Snow Day!

Today was supposed to be Lily's big birthday party, but the weather had other ideas. We had hope that the party could go on as planned, but once the snow kept falling and the temperatures kept dropping we all agreed (rather reluctantly) that it was best to postpone. Thankfully, all our plans transferred perfectly to next Sunday at the same time and same place. Lily, of course, was pretty disappointed, but the fact that there was snow to play with seemed to make it all a little better and she handled the whole situation like a champ! See, this is why I never rent a bounce house and hope for a good day -- it was 65 this week and currently it is 32, but "feels like 21" according to weather.com. It is all rather bittersweet since we'd been hoping for snow all season -- just not for today!!

But we made the best of it and went out to play in all our snow! It was COLD out there since it was still snowing and pretty windy!

Lily loves to throw snowballs!

Snowball fight!!

Lily also loves eating the snow.

I love the bare trees covered in snow. SO pretty!

Throwing more snowballs.

Daddy helping her perfect her throw.

Snow angels!

It was so sweet, Lily jumped on Chip's back and yelled, "We're snow buddies!!"

Lily's snow angel is slightly challenged.

That is better.

She was outta control -- she laid down all over the yard and kept making angels.

We all wanted a snowman, but no one had the energy to make one -- they are a lot of work. So we made this tiny guy which you can hardly even see in the photo.

My snow angel.

Getting Dressed

Lily was being silly while getting dressed on Saturday.

An older / smaller shirt + her big head = hysterics!

More Birthday Presents!

Lily's birthday celebration has continued all week. Wednesday she brought her favorite M&M cookies to school to celebrate in class. And she got gifts in the mail from my Aunt Karen and Uncle Bob and her Aunt Susan and Uncle Shawn.

Reading her Texas book from Uncle Bob and Aunt Karen. It is a great book and Lily is loving it.
Opening her Barbies and Barbie clothes from Uncle Shawn and Aunt Susan. I've spend the last few days dressing and undressing Barbie dolls.

Happy 4th Birthday Lily!!!!!

I'm not exactly sure how it happened, but somehow my precious baby girl turned 4 years old this week!!! Part of me can't believe she is already 4, but part of me can't believe she is only 4 -- I mean she is more like 4 going on 16 with her outfits, accessorizing, cell phones, texting, music videos, attitude and overall dramatics. She is a little hoot and I love her to death!!

Her big day fell on a Tuesday this year and since she had dance class and Chip had a wintermester class and work, we didn't have anything exciting planned. But Lily seemed okay with that. After Christmas break she was excited to go back to dance and see Carys, so that made her whole day. Plus I let her choose her TV programs and meals all day long, so that was super exciting for her -- especially since she has recently gotten all TV privileges take away (until she poos in the potty). I even let her have her precious goldfish crackers for the day -- those too, were taken away over a month ago (!!) in an attempt to get her out of diapers once and for all. So she was beyond happy.

My big girl all ready for dance.

With Carys at dance.
Today they started learning the routine for the June recital!! Exciting!

Lily insisted on wearing her "birthday crown" all day long.
........
In the evening we went to BJs for dinner with my parents. Lily got to choose any restaurant she wanted and she said it was either Chick Fil-A or BJs. So Lily and I got Chick Fil-A for lunch (although I let her order whatever she wanted and all she got was a fruit cup ??) and Bjs for dinner!

Her birthday mini pizookie.
(and her cell in hand)
Yum-o!

Back at home it was present time!

Lily and all her presents spread out throughout the room.

She got a Leapster Explorer and games and more books, toys and a suitcase -- so we are ready to go . . . . somewhere. :)
But her favorite part was playing with the trash!

Playing matador and bull with Grandpa! :)

They are so silly.

Now Lily is a monster and chasing Grandpa around the house.

Wrapping paper fight!

Cake time!

Deep Breath . . .

. . . . and blow!!
Happy Birthday to my baby girl, my angel-poo, my muffin buns, my boo boos!!!! I hope all your birthday dreams and wishes come true!

Goodbye Christmas

We spent the whole day today cleaning the house, putting away Christmas stuff and moving around the new furniture. It was way too much work, but I was SO ready to do it. I always thought it was so sad when my Mom was ready and more than willing to take down all the Christmas crap -- I would have left it up all year. But this year I was SO over it and wanted the clutter gone and my house back! Even Lily was kinda excited to put it away, which I thought was strange. Christmas is over and it is time to get into birthday mode! Woo Hoo!

See ya in 11 months!

Happy New Year!

New Years Eve we went to Patti, Bryan and Emily's house along with Jenn, Pete, Makayla and Madison. As always, it was fun hanging out and the girls had a blast playing together.

Experimenting with Emily's tap shoes. Lily doesn't take tap yet and she wasn't sure what to make of the tap shoes.
..........
We left their house a little before midnight since it was obvious the girls were getting tired (I made Lily nap earlier in the day). But by the time we got home and got Lily ready for bed, it was nearly time to countdown, so we all crawled into our bed and rung in the new year. Lily did not grasp the concept at all, but she had fun watching the fireworks on TV. I was hoping since she stayed up so late she would sleep in, but nope. She was up right at 7:30. Argh. So, we got up played and waited for the Rose Parade to start! It is still weird to me that it is not on right when I wake up. Lily was into it and it was fun to get her into my New Years Day traditions.
Later in the day, Lily and I were both pretty pooped, so we curled up on the tiny love seat and fell asleep for over 2 hours! Lily was SO tired that she nearly rolled off the couch at least a dozen times, but I caught her every time and pulled her back up -- and she never woke up!
My sweet baby.
My favorite position. :)
