Valentine's Day

Lily was all excited to bring her valentines to school on Tuesday.  She got dressed up her in Valentine outfit that I bought her last year and Danielle wore her cozy heart outfit that she wears on cold mornings when we take Lily to school.  They were very festive.

While Lily was at school, I had to bring Danielle back to the doctor's office.  She had a fever and cold last week that seemed to disappear over the weekend, but came back worse on Monday night.  Turns out she has an ear infection and the eye infection she has last week was probably all part of the same cold.  So more antibiotics for my sweet baby.  She handles the cold pretty well -- a little more fussy at night, but pretty much still the same happy baby.  But the antibiotics are harsh on her tummy and I am constantly changing dirty diapers.  The poor thing has the worst diaper rash that we are trying so hard to get under control, but it is difficult when she just keeps going.  That has been the worst part.   Hopefully this is the last cold for awhile.  She has already had too many!!

Once Lily got home she got to open all the valentines from her classmates.
She got a book from her teachers . . .
 . . . pretzels from herself . . .
. . . and lots of fun treats from her friends.

In the evening when Daddy came home he gave the girls their traditional Valentine's Day teddy bear.  This is Lily's 6th bear and Dani's first.  It is such a cute tradition he started with Lily and this is the first year she actually was very excited and looking forward to getting her teddy bear from daddy!

Danielle just liked to eat the ribbon on her bear.
I also bought the girls a few things -- Lily got a new game, a cookie and a Strawberry Shortcake doll.  Danielle got a new teether and a teething blanket.  Chip and I agreed not to buy each other anything and for the first time, he listened.

Playtime

Danielle was having tons of fun playing with her little kitchen that Grandma and Grandpa gave her for Christmas.  She discovered that if you pushed on the faucet the light would light up and start singing . . . so she pushed on that faucet over and over and over again.  It was so cute.  I loved watching her facial expressions as she discovered all the new things the toy could do.

Happy Birthday Matthew and Carys

Last weekend we went to Matthew and Carys 5th birthday party.  It was at yet another local gymnastic place and it was tons of fun.  They had bounce houses, a trapeze, a zip line, trampolines, etc. . . .  I was very proud of Lily when she did the trapeze, over and over again!

And Danielle had fun playing with baby Matthew and hanging out with Auntie Beth and Auntie Heather.

Valentines

Today Lily got all her Valentine's ready to take to school on Tuesday.  She picked out pretzel bags with a Princess and Cars theme to bring to all her friends.  Since she is working on writing and spelling this year, the kids were encouraged to address each Valentine to their friends, so she wrote one out for everyone in her class -- including herself!

Danielle wanted in on the action too.

All done!
I thought it was cute that she added a heart to only Logan's valentine.  She has had a crush on Logan for nearly a year now.

Saying Good Bye

This morning we went over to my parent's house real quick to say good bye to Aunt Pam who is leaving today.  We didn't get to stay too long since Dani was getting fussy and in need of a nap, but at least we got to say hi and bye.

Hanging with Grandpa.
Bye Bye Aunt Pam.

Restaurant High Chair!

With Aunt Pam in town we've gone out to eat three times in the last two days. We haven't gone out to eat in a long time -- really since Disneyland since Chip started school and we really don't have time to eat out and I usually have to hold Danielle, so it is just easier to stay home.  The first two meals I just got a sling to put her infant carrier in since I didn't think she was ready for a high chair.  Of course she only lasted in the carrier about 5 minutes or less each time and I had to hold her anyway.  It really wasn't a big deal and she is such a good girl when we are out.  But after her stellar sitting up at home earlier, I decided to try a high chair when we went out Saturday night.   I did have to put a blanket in front of her to hold her in and cushion her since she wanted to rock back and forth (and potentially hit her head on the table).  But otherwise it was a huge success!  I think she liked being able to see everyone.  I brought her oatmeal to feed her so she could eat dinner with us.  She looked so cute and tiny in her high chair.

Above is her new "O" face she makes when she says "ooooo".

Sitting Up!

Saturday evening Danielle was sitting up really well, so my Mom got the genius idea to bring her stage over to her.  Dani LOVED it.  It was SO cute watching her play and play with the toy.  It definitely encouraged her to sit up for a longer time too.  I am excited to bring out all the rest of the baby toys now!

Oooh!

Then she decided to get fancy and play with her feet.

Saturday Morning

Saturday morning Lily just HAD to do a "science experiment" and she needed a bowl, water, soap and "something from the pantry".  So I gave her some oregano flakes and a bottle of lemon pepper seasoning and let her go to town.  She had a lot of fun and learned that when you stirred the water the soap bubbles would multiply and when you poured more and more oregano on top the bubbles would pop.  Not sure how scientific it all was, but it kept her entertained for awhile!

Later on Saturday morning my two babies curled up to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while waiting for Aunt Pam, Grandma  and then Grandpa to come over.
Too cute!

Playing with Aunt Pam.
She was so nice to bring gifts for Lily and Danielle!  Thank you Aunt Pam!

Aunt Pam

Aunt Pam is in town for the weekend!  She had some friends who were driving to Dallas, so she hitched a ride to come visit and meet Danielle.  Lily was excited to see Aunt Pam and Danielle seemed to like her too!

100 Days of Pre-K

Friday was Lily's 100th day of Pre-K!  It was a pretty big deal and they had been couting down to it all year.  To celebrate, she had to make a posted with 100 things.  I tried to get her to come up with her own idea, but she didn't.  So I offered a few suggestions and we decided to make a vase with 100 flowers.  We made the poster last weekend.  Lily picked out the flower stickers and pink poster board.  I traced the vase, and she painted it.  Then she counted out 100 stickers and put them on the posted.  I helped with some, since she was losing interest after the first half. :)  And I helped by drawing the stems and some leaves.  But all in all, Lily pretty much made the poster herself!  I was proud of it, it turned out cute!

Counting out 100 flowers.

Oh and I forgot to mention that Danielle helped out too!

Ta da!
