Dani's Birthday Party!

We finally got to have Danielle's 2nd birthday party -- only a week late!  It was a Sofia The First themed party and I had a lot of fun shopping for it and decorating -- that is my favorite part of parties.  :)

Her gorgeous cake.

Purple candy -- everything was purple!

I even had water bottle labels made with Sofia that said "Happy Birthday Danielle".

Dani and Abby
Of course, Dani had a Sofia dress and hair bow.

The girls made tiaras and the boys made pirate hats.

Dani had a great time playing balloon toss with Ben and Matthew.

Can't believe my beautiful baby is already 2!
Grandma helped Dani make her Tiara.

All the kids, minus Abby and Ben.

She went for her presents and ripped them all open in record time. . . .
. . . which was even more impressive since I don't think she could see anything!

She got a Sofia shirt and Ariel's grotto from Abby (and family).

She got a tea set and Little People toy from Emily (and family).
And an awesome princess tent from Maddie and Ben (and family).

Signs of a successful party -- you can't see the mess as well in photos, but it is there.  I think everyone had a great time and my baby girl is officially a year older.

Back to School Night

Thursday night was Lily's Back to School/ Meet The Teacher night!  Lily was excited, but apprehensive.  We already knew where most of her friends were placed and only Cora (out of her current BFFs) is in her class.  But it is good to meet new people and make new friends.   I failed at taking many pictures since we were in and out and took care of business fairly quickly.   But we went to her class, met her new teacher Mrs Spann and saw some old friends.  I can't believe my baby girl is a first grader now!!!  It is crazy.  I am so sad that summer is over and school is starting. It was such an amazing summer.  I really appreciated it more this year since Lily (and Chip) are in school full time.  I'm sad to get back on schedule and back to "reality".

Outside her classroom!

Happy Anniversary

For our 9th wedding anniversary, Chip and I got tickets to see the Tony Award winning Broadway musical, "Book of Mormon".  We went to dinner first and then headed to the theater.  It was hilarious and highly offensive.  We had a great night!

Hip Hop

Lily started Hip Hop this week with Mrs Crystal.  She was over tap and ballet.  She said ballet would be more fun if it wasn't so slow.  Since she is finally old enough for Hip Hop and other fun classes, we thought we'd give it a try.  She LOVES it.  It is so much more her.  Fun pop music, cute outfits, real shoes.  She is so cute in there hipping and hopping!!

Just Chillin

I think they are on a roadtrip. :)

My Silly Minnie

For about a week straight -- the last week of Summer vacation, Dani has to wear this Minnie costume constantly.  Serisouly, she slept in it.  She called it her "Minnie bow dress" and would through a giant tantrum when you tried to change her clothes.   Eventually I got her out of it and she seems to have forgotten about it  . . .  for now.   Here she is after getting into my eyeshadow.  It would be a good Halloween costume -- zombie Minnie.

Tiny Dancer

My teeny tiny sweet baby girl started Mommy and Me Ballet last Tuesday with Mrs Crystal.   Even since we signed Lily and Carys up for dance at age 3 and found out they offered this toddler class, Rhiannon and I said we'd do it with the girls.  Dani was getting bored with Gymboree and this girl LOVES music and dancing, so I figured it would be perfect.  She did amazing her first class -- it was just her and Abby and she listened to Mrs Crystal and tried to do everything she was told.  I was SO proud of her.  She learned first position, did some dancing and tumbling.  It was the cutest.

Mrs Crystal helping her with first position.

Our second class last week did not go as smoothly.  There were 3 or 4 other girls and moms in the class and Dani didn't listed as well.  She mainly ran around like a crazy person.  She really is taking this 2 year old phase by storm.
