Do you want to build a snowman?

Dani has been wanting to build a snowman for over a year now (thanks a lot Anna and Elsa).  Since there was some freezing drizzle overnight, the snow was a little more wet and we were finally able to build a snowman!!!   It was a quick snowman since there was still freezing drizzle and rain coming down and that was not fun, but we (I) did it!!  Courtney spend the night, so she and Lily were there to help!

Yay!  Dani named him "Olaf" of course.

Finally -- real snowball fights!!

Later in the afternoon we made more snowmen -- Olaf cookie snowmen!!!  I bought a kit awhile ago and today was the perfect day to finally put it to use.
It was quite a process,  First we had to make and roll out the dough (Lily was impressed that we had "one of those things" aka a rolling pin.  Obviously we make too make slice and bake cookies.)

Next was use a cookie cutter to make Olafs. (Hey kids, cookie cutters are not just for play doh!)

After they cooked and cooled, we had to make royal icing and ice the Olafs and put on the eyes.  Then we had to wait for the icing to set and dry.

After the royal icing was dry, we got to decorate the rest of the Olaf!!

Ta Da!

We each got to decorate 2.

Lily's and one of mine.
I was pretty proud and impressed with how they turned out!

And most importantly, they were yummy too!!

Goodbyes / Sick

Monday morning it was time for them to head back to CA.  The weekend went by WAY too fast and we were all sad to see them leave.  Hopefully they come back again soon!!

As soon as they left, Dani starting running a fever and ended up staying home from school and playing Mario Bros all day.   They wore her down!

Southfork Sunday / Superbowl Sunday

Mindy really wanted to go to Southfork.  Paul didn't really care as much, so Sunday morning Chip and Paul stayed home with Bri so she could nap; Lily went to Caroline's ice skating birthday party and the rest of us headed to Southfork Ranch!   Really not much of the interior was used for either of the Dallas shows so the tour isn't that thrilling and for a 6000 sq foot "mansion" it isn't very impressive.  But it is still something you have to say you saw when you visited the Dallas area.

The girls in the museum.

In the house with "JR"

In the new series, after Larry Hagman's death they had to actually kill JR.  They did film that in the house -- but it was supposed to be a Mexican motel room!

Later in the day we all went over to Rhiannon and Ben's house for the Superbowl!  It was fun and nice for Mindy and Rhiannon to meet.
Seattle Seahawks cupcakes (too bad they lost).

Dallas / Golf Course

Saturday we had a nice lazy morning at home while the girls played.  Then we headed down to Dallas for lunch and to visit the Sixth Floor Museum and see where JKF was assassinated.  A must do for anyone visiting Dallas.

You can't quite tell here, but Lily LOVED Bri and was really the baby whisperer.
Dani couldn't stop giving her kisses.

Lunch at the original Twisted Root Burger.
Lily over looking "the spot" where the first bullet hit.
View from the window in the school book depository.

On the way back from Dallas we stopped by the golf course to show them and say hi to Grandpa.
The girls liked the bar!

We couldn't resist the photo opp of all 4 girls working the bar. :)
