Pinewood Derby

Lily (or I, actually) decided to participate in the Girl Scout Pinewood Derby this year.  I always had fun doing the pinewood derby with my dad and I though Lily and Grandpa would have fun with it too!  My dad was super excited.  Lily was excited, but not really sure exactly what we were doing. :)

A few weeks before we went over to Grandpa's to make the car.  Lily designed a car that looked like her favorite pair of shoes.  Very clever.

Of course Dani couldn't be left out, so she made a pink pencil car just for fun!

Finally it was the big day!

The car and the inspiration!

Lily's car did pretty good!!!  She came in 3rd in her age group and held her own against the majority of other cars!  It was fun and exciting!

I'm so glad she got to carry on the Pinewood Derby tradition with my dad!

Happy Birthday Sophie!

Sophie had a carnival themed slumber party this year.  Of course, Lily was invited for the whole thing and Dani was invited to come and play the games.  It was fun.  There were tons of games to earn tickets and a prize table to redeem those tickets.  It was fun.

Field Trip to Arbroetum

The 2nd graders had a super fun field trip to the Dallas Arboretum and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day or better group to spend the day with!  Mrs Barr, Lily's teacher is awesome and grouped Lily, Abby, Tanner, Bryce and Luke together since all us moms were carpooling together.  So it was like a big playdate with friends.

Such a cute group!

We did have one mishap when Lily fell and scraped up her legs.  Mrs Barr wouldn't let us live it down since we were the only group with an injury and the only group with 5 parents!!!  Oops.

Picture Day

These cuties had picture day at preschool on the same day as the 2nd grade field trip, so we took Ella to school since her mom was riding the bus with the kids ( I opted to drive over).  They looked too cute and we excited to carpool to school together, even though they are in different classes.
