Costumes!

Since I highly doubt I'll be able to get any good pictures on Halloween of Lily in her costume (she be way too excited and busy running around with her friends), we had a mini photo shoot in the backyard yesterday.

Danielle is a little cupcake!

I could literally just eat her up!

Are we done yet?

Since Lily's costume has candy and cupcakes on it, I decided Dani should be a cupcake. Most people won't realize it, but I know they are kinda coordinated. :)

Cutest cupcake ever!!

Hair Cut

Friday we went to Sweet & Sassy for a much needed haircut. I like the idea of Lily's hair long, but it just gets so stringy and gross looking. She was very excited to go to the "salon" as long as they didn't cut it too short.

While at the mall we got cupcakes and Lily played in the play area (which she hasn't done in years). She had a blast and made new friends. It was a good outing for all.

Goofy Girls

The other night we were just sitting around being silly (what else is new) while Chip was cooking dinner. Yes, "Super Dad" (as he calls himself) as continued making dinner since his bedrest duties. He grills up some yummy chicken!

Dani's face cracks me up!

Story Time with Grandma

My Mom has been such a big help these last few months. She was there when I was on bedrest to take Lily to swim and pick her up from summer school. She has been there since Dani was born to pick Lily up from school and take her to dance. Not to mention the extended playdates with Grandma. It has been SO nice to not have to worry about Dani's nap and feeding schedule with regards to Lily's schedule. When Lily was born, she came over everyday to hang out with me which was awesome, now she comes over to hang out with Lily or take Lily to her house. That is the biggest help of all and I know Lily loves it. Although, Dani and I miss her company sometimes. The other day she hung out with all of us and Lily read stories to her and Danielle.

10 Weeks Old

My super sweet happy baby is already 10 weeks old!! In some ways, it seems like she should be older since it is hard to remember or imagine life without her! She really is such an easy and happy baby .... I hope she stays that way!

Always smiling!
I had to post this picture so I could remember how she always has her little thumbs tucked away between her fingers. I'm sure she'll outgrow this habit soon.

Halloween Dance Party

Wednesday they had a Halloween Party in dance class and everyone got to wear their costumes and play games. . . . before I show you those pictures, let me explain Lily's costume . . .

Anyone who has spent any time with Lily over the last couple years is well aware of her love for Katy Perry and Katy Perry songs. Her obsession started years ago with the song and video for "California Gurls" and really who can blame her. The video takes place in a magical candy wonderland. The combination of colorful candy and a catchy pop song would make any 3 year old girl (going on 16) fall instantly in love. This love has never died. Lily now knows (thanks to youtube and me buying the CD's on itunes) nearly every word to nearly every Katy Perry song. We have hours of video of her singing along and she often pretends to be Katy Perry. So when I randomly came across a Halloween costume based on the candy outfit Katy wears in the California Gurl video, I knew that Lily HAD to have it for Halloween!!!

For those of you who have not been forced to watch the video over and over and over again and are not familiar with the outfit, here are some pictures from the video:

close ups of the dress.
And here is my little Katy Perry:
It really is the PERFECT costume for Lily and her personality!! I LOVE it!!

Pumpkin Patch (part 2)

Every Fall since we moved here, Chip and I have really loved taking Lily to the pumpkin patch as a family. So, even though we already went with her school friends, we both wanted to be sure to keep the tradition alive -- especially this year with Danielle. And yes, there are other patches nearby, but this is Chip's favorite one. So, we went back to the pumpkin farm this morning. I was a little concerned at first since Lily kept asking if her friends would be there again, but once we got there she had tons of fun with us! We are just as fun as her friends!! :)

She is getting so brave feeding the goats. She actually put the food in her hand for them to eat. I have a suspicion it has something to do with the fact that when we were there last time the goat took her whole cup of food right out of her hand. This way she got to keep her food and feed more goats.
I forgot to wash their Halloween outfits after the arboretum, but was pleasantly surprised to find that Lily's Halloween shirt from the last 2 years still fits!! Danielle wore a new onesie that was a gift from my friend Tara who makes childrens clothes. It is so cute with her little "jeaggings" (jean leggings for those of you who are not hip to the latest fashions).

Striking a pose in the patch.

My little pumpkin. I love how her blue eyes sparkle in this photo.
On the hayride!

Practicing her lasso techniques.
It was a great family day. I am already starting to get really sad about next year when Lily is in kindergarten all day and these outings will be much more difficult to coordinate. :(
