Easter Egg Hunt

This morning was the neighborhood Easter egg hunt.   I was so excited to take Dani to her first Easter egg hunt!!  Technically it is for kids under 5, but Lily got to participate and got 24 eggs! (she was very proud of that!)   We got there on time, but they started a few minutes late so Dani had fun running around and playing with the "balls" before the hunt actually started.  She kept calling the eggs "balls" and was throwing them.  She is very familiar with eggs - but they are usually scrambled.

Arriving at the clubhouse.
Look at my beautiful big girl.  She looks so grown up.

"Balls!"
And she throws them.

Her faces crack me up.
Getting to "write".  Dani loves to write.

Finally the egg hunt started and Dani knew just what to do!

She was so cute!!

Cookie time

Grandma came with us to the egg hunt.  So afterwards we went back to Grandma's house to open the eggs and check out their loot!  They mostly got stickers, some bubbles, tiny cars, and parachuting bunnies.  And all the kids got a pinwheel.  It was a fun morning and a good warm up for the real thing tomorrow!

My Baby Doll

Lily brought her baby doll stroller down from the playroom since they were both wanting to play with Dani's baby doll stroller.  Dani loves it and thinks it is her new chair.  I actually took picture of Dani in this stroller when she was 7 weeks old (here's the link).  It's crazy to see how's she has changed in a year and a half.  It doesn't even look like the same kid!

More Mario

The obsession with Mario Kart continues.  In fact it is even worse and Dani is all in on the hype.  She constantly gets the wheels out herself and begs to play.  She doesn't actually play, but she likes to watch the cartoon-like game on the TV.  It is sweet.  The best part is that Dani actually puts the wheels away when they are done playing.  She is the ONLY one in the house that puts those damn things away and no one even has to ask her to.  Not sure where she got that from!!

Funny Faces

Danielle is a little cheese-head.  She makes the funniest faces that crack me up.  Here are a couple  of cheesy faces that I love.

Trouble!

Dani is a climber and she almost found a way out of the living room enclosure.  I have to remember to watch what I put near the gates with this one!

American Girls

I successfully kept Lily away from the American Girl dolls for 6 years.  I knew my streak was coming to an end when Carys got one for Christmas and got Lily interested in them.  Then last weekend it was officially all over when she got invited to Christie's birthday at the American Girl store.  The party was lunch with her friends and their dolls.  If you didn't have a doll, you could borrow one.  Poor Lily was one of the only girls that had to borrow a doll.  Lily is beyond spoiled and if she loved dolls I am sure I would have bought her one long ago, but she never really had a big interest in dolls.  Until now.  Now all she can talk about is getting an American Girl doll.    Since my Mom didn't officially get her a birthday present (there was nothing else she needed or wanted after Christmas), she told her she'd get her a doll.   We haven't gone yet, but I am sure we'll have to go back to the store soon.

Lily at lunch with her doll for the day.

Checking out the store.   It was fun and I am looking forward to going back and getting Lily her own doll.

Free Time

With the exception of scheduled activities, we spend a lot of free time at home playing and hanging out.  Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love just messing around and having fun with these two -- they are the greatest!!

(obviously Dani's hair had not been brushed yet for the day)

Mommy's BFF

I wanted to get a picture of Lily wearing her new pajamas -- which are totally awesome.  I hope they still fit her when she goes away to college!  I didn't get a "normal" picture, but what I got was even better as it is totally Lily.

Pink Fluffy Marshmallow

Last Friday at Lily's soccer practice it was COLD.  Wind chills in the high 30s.  So I had Dani dressed in triple layers, which she surprisingly didn't mind.  It was a little tricky to eat Pirate Booty with mittens on, but she managed.
