Oh, Dani

Me: Dani what are you doing??
Dani: walking around eating my pasta.  But look, I made a number two in pasta on the floor!!

Me: Dani, what are you doing??
Dani: I wanted an orange.  But don't worry I cut it myself.

One Last Summer Swim

Technically these two besties have one last week of Summer before preschool starts, so they spent Wednesday afternoon at Abby's house playing and swimming.

They like to kiss in the pool.

Wish Summer could last forever.

3rd Grade!!

Not entirely sure how it happened, but my beautiful, spunky, funny, baby girl is starting the 3rd grade!!!  It is amazing how fast it is all flying by!!

She HAD to shop in the Juniors section at Dillards since that is where all the clothes her "style" were.  The kids section was too babyish.  So I gave in and bough her a few tops -- all of which are way too big.  This is one of them, we had to layer with a tank top underneath and kind of made it more of a tunic than a top, but she was happy and got to portray her style.  My sweet big girl!!!

Blessing of the Backpack

The Sunday before school, the Methodist church where Dani goes to school and most of Lily's friends go to church, has a Blessing of the Backpack for the kids for the school year.  Lily really wanted to go.  Unfortunately, Chip and I had gone to a 40th birthday party in Grapevine the Saturday night before and stayed the night out there.  So Cathy picked Lily up from Grandma's house and brought her to church with them to get her messenger bag for school blessed.  So cute.

Last Official Day of Summer & Dani's 1st Sleepover

On Friday, the last official day of Summer Vacation, we crammed as much fun in as possible!!  We started the day with a playdate and lunch with Carys, Abby and Rhiannon.  They Carys and Abby stayed with me and Ella and Avery came over and we all met up with other friends to play in the fountains and have dinner at Gloria's.  Then we all went swimming at Harpers's house until late and then Carys and Abby came back here to spend the night!!  SO much fun in one day!!!

Caroline, Charly and Harper.
I didn't take any pictures at the pool party -- but after and before bed, they had popcorn and watched The Descendants movie!
This was a HUGE day/night for these two -- their first ever sleepover (besides at Grandparent's houses).  They are only 4, but they did So great and went right to sleep.  Probably helped that I wore them out all day.  They were so excited and have been wanting this for so long.  It was so cute.
Pretty great way to end summer!

Meet the Teacher

Thursday night we went to Back to the Castle night to meet Lily's third (3rd!!!) grade teacher, Mrs Jones.  Sadly, I neglected to get any photos of Lily in her class or with Mrs Jones (I'm slipping).  But Cathy got this one of Avery, Abby and Lily as we were leaving!  Aves and Abby are not in Lily's class this year.  But she is with Tanner (for the 4th year in a row) and Charly and Harper!  So it should be a good year.

Soccer and Dance -- Getting Back to Schedules

The last week of summer also brings the start of dance classes and soccer practices.  Dani was SO excited to start soccer and did awesome at her first practice!!  I can't wait to watch her play.

Pretty pink soccer princess.

This year she is taking a ballet/tap combo with Ms. Haley and Lily (who I didn't get a photo of) is taking Musical Theater with Ms Katie.  It is a mixture of Jazz and theatrical dancing.  So perfect for Lily.

Last week of Summer

Sadly, the last week of summer is here.  I love summer and appreciate it so much more since Lily started school full time.  It is just amazing to have so much time with the girls, no schedules, no real commitments.  Just free playtime and relaxation with friends.  So we jammed in as much fun as we could the last week (starting with Six Flags on Monday) and went back to the Frisco Aquatic Center on Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Dani!!! Six Flags

My baby girl is 4 years old!!!  Not sure how that happened, although I can't really remember or imagine life without her.  She constantly keeps me entertained and on my toes.  She is hilarious and crazy and I love every single itty bitty bit of her!

We started the day how every good birthday starts -- with cake for breakfast!!

Then we went to Six Flags over Texas.  They actually have a ton of age appropriate rides for Dani (and Lily who doesn't like roller coasters).  We were there open to close and didn't get to do it all!  It was no Disney, but it was a fun day.

Texas Tea Cups!

Rule #1 is awesome.

The girls had to go on this dumb ride where we squirt water at each other.  Needless to say, we ended up soaked.

Shockingly, Lily loves this little ride.  Dani, not so much.

Chip wasn't feeling great, so I took the girls on this little hot air balloon ride -- which was basically tea cups in the sky.  I'm lucky they are not covered in my vomit.
I'm 4!!

Lily thought for sure she could beat this game, climb the ladder and win the stuffed animal.  She actually did a LOT better than I expected.  I was pretty proud of her -- and relieved she didn't actually win a huge stuffed animal.

We stumbled across one of those places that takes Western photos.  I've secretly always wanted to do this and since I can't pass up a cheesy photo opportunity we got pictures of the girls!!  Thankfully, they were into it too.

They told them to make a "mean face".

Another "mean" face.  So awesome.
When it is your birthday, no one questions you when you try to eat ice cream through a straw while holding a perfectly good spoon.

Cooling off.

They have cars to drive, like Disneyland.  But here Dani could reach and control the gas/break petal.  We all have whip lash, but she had the greatest 5 minutes of her little life!!

SO Happy!!

Dani saw this mushroom hat that looks a lot like Toad from Mario Bros, so of course she HAD to have it.
The also managed to get capes.
Aunt Linda, Uncle Scott, Jeremy and Katie gave her money to spend at Six Flags for her birthday.  She got the toad hat, a Bat Girl cape and a pastel shell necklace.  She was so thrilled.
She loved her new hat so much that she slept in it!
Happy Birthday Dani!!  Hope you had as much fun today as I did.
