Grandpa's Birthday

Sorry no posts the last couple days. We've just been doing the usual routine -- School on Thursday morning and then we relaxed at home the rest of the day. Playgroup yesterday morning at the park. Still enjoying the perfect weather while it lasts!!

Yesterday was my Dad's birthday. I had wanted to take him to dinner or do something fun, but they have a big party today at the course that they have been preparing for all week. So it stopped by in the evening for dessert and his present. Lily loves birthdays and was so excited to help Grandpa celebrate his!

I tried to find him a lemon meringue pie which is his favorite. But we don't have Marie Callendars in Dallas, or any place like that (that I know of) where you can just walk in and grab a pie. I found some bakeries that make them, but you needed a few days notice and I did not plan that far ahead. I did managed to have a lemon pie made for me yesterday afternoon and I figured maybe that would be close enough, but it was a lemon cream, so I went with his other favorites -- Twinkies and Hostess Cupcakes and cookie-n-cream sundaes!!

I hope Lily wished for something good for Grandpa! :)
