Last night as Lily went to bed (after spending the evening at Grandpa's house while Chip and I went out with Patti and Bryan) the last thing she said was that tomorrow she wanted to "stay home and play with her toys." Then again this morning as she woke up she said that she wanted to stay home today. I felt kinda bad since we've been busy lately, and I did need to go grocery shopping today, but figured I could put it off if she just wanted to hang out at home. Of course by 8:30am she asked "Where are we going today? Let's go get dressed!" So I told her we could go to Target and she said no, that she wanted to go to the toy store. Since Toys R Us is right next to the Super Target where we get our groceries, I told her we could go there first and she could point out things she wanted for Christmas and her birthday.
It was actually a pretty successful reconnaissance trip. The doll house that I totally wanted to get her, she had NO interest in at all and she told me flat out that she did not want it. Basically anything with a Disney Princess on it is a good gift. Of course what she really really wanted more than anything else was this car:

Shopping
A very nice undercover Elf (aka a Toys R Us employee) helped us find a good fit and is going to relay the results to Santa. I kept this whole Santa and Elf act going while we were there, but she could have cared less -- all she wanted to do was get back into the Escalades!
So as soon as we were done with the bikes she immediately went back!
After I finally got her out of the car and our walk through Toys R Us was over, we went to Target where I actually got her to ride in the cart! Of course it was this big rig of carts and it was hard to maneuver, but here she is happily sitting there while I get cat litter! Wonder how long the novelty of a new cart will last?

Grandma Claus will get right on that.
She is the perfect age for the Escalade. Even Ari drives our little Jeep and it's so much fun to watch! Love those Target carts, too, but you're right - they are hard to push. Not as hard as the car carts at other grocery stores, though. What the heck, we get a workout while shopping!
