Princess Lily and A Rainy Day Playdate

Yesterday morning we went over to Grandma's to hang out for a little while. Lily loves to put on the tiara and check herself out in the mirror. We actually do not have a full length mirror in our house (it has been on my list of things to do/get since we moved in), so it is a novelty and tons of fun for Lily to check herself out at my Mom's house.

Today after school we had a play date with Avery from Gymboree. Lily hasn't seen Avery since our last class a month ago and has really been missing Kathleen and Avery. She talks about them all the time. So this morning before school I told her that we were going to go to Avery's house and she screamed and said "How Fun! I love my friend Avery!" I told her that I would pick her up from school and she had to eat her nuggets on the way to Avery's house (since I knew she would be too excited to eat when we got there and unfortunately our schedules clash so we don't have any other days we can get together). When I picked Lily up from school her teacher, Miss Andrea, told me that Lily talked about going to Avery's house all morning at school and how she was going to "eat chicken and play with Avery and was so excited." Apparently the whole class now knows about Kathleen and Avery! So cute!! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of them playing, but they played SO well together! It was the first play date ever where I actually got to sit and eat lunch, drink coffee and chat with my friend without having to deal with Lily. It was great! We'll have to do that more often!

I did get pictures of Lily "just touching the rain" when we got home. Yes, another day of rain -- it has been a week straight of rain (but I am not complaining). Today was school spirit day and she wore her school t-shirt and a jean skirt (which she took off at Avery's house since she couldn't climb up on Kathleen's bed with it on. Yes, they were playing on the bed, but they were having fun so we let them be.) So that is why she is in a too big t-shirt and no pants. :)

She really really wants rain boots so she can play in the rain. They are also on my list of things to get, but if it is not raining I forget about it!
