Lunch with the Easter Bunny!

Today we had lunch with the Easter Bunny! We went with our playgroup friends to the event hosted by the city. We had to sign up in advance and pay a small fee, but they had lunch brought in from Chick Fil-A, story time, games, cookies and of course the Easter Bunny! The kids had a blast!

Ashley, Lily & Emily

Story time
(Lily, Emily and Elise HAD to bring their chips with them).

They didn't actually play this game, but had so much fun running around with the balls and sticking their heads through the holes.

Elise and Lily

She did it again!!!!
Still not looking all that happy, but I was SO proud of her.

What is up with that face?

The EXACT same face she made on Saturday with the bunny.

Lily and Emily running amok in the room. They were having fun and stayed out of every one's way. But it is still crazy too me -- I am not used to having the wild and crazy child. What happened to my sweet, shy Lily??

Elise and Lily

We tried to get a group photo with the girls, but apparently in front of the blinds was not the best plan!!

Most the kids at the lunch
(Hannah and Elise from our group did not go anywhere near the bunny)

Hannah, Elise, Emily, Ashley and Lily (doing some sort of pose).

Lily refused to smile for the photos. She looks so bored and over her friends.

Tickle time!

Ashley, Elise and Lily (again appearing to be so miserable)

After lunch Lily and I went to Emily's house to check out her new bounce house!!! Looks like we'll be spending even more time there now!

Cruisin'

Today after school we had a class social at Matthew and Carys' grandparent's house. They live only 15 minutes away, but it is like another world. They have a beautiful house on over 5 acres, right next to stables out in the country. So Rhiannon, who was in charge of this month's social thought it would be fun to have the kids over to her parent's house and let them run and play. She was right -- it was so fun. They had a bounce house and tons of balls out on the tennis courts for the kids to play with. Although, I think they all had the most fun collecting rocks and sticks. Unfortunately, the horses next door didn't come by when we tried to feed them carrots (but Lily actually ate 3 baby carrots which is a HUGE deal!) . Lily and Makayla were the last 2 kids to leave and before we left they brought out the cars. Lily was in heaven. She was already having a blast at her best friend's house playing with all her friends, but to add cars to that -- amazing! Especially with her latest obsession to sit in the garage and play in the car, this was the coolest thing ever.

Matthew, Lily and Carys.
They are her closet school friends. It is so cute to see how tight those three are. I get along really well with Rhiannon and Chip and the dad Ben, hit it off the few times they have met. We are hoping to get together over the summer for playdates and BBQ's.

We always tease that Matthew is Lily's boyfriend. Which Chip doesn't find funny at all, but I am totally cool with it. He is the sweetest boy!

It took her awhile to get the hang of the petal and steering. She would slam on the breaks like 20 feet from something and yell, "Ah, a bush. I am going to hit the bush." when she was still miles away. I guess it is better than just plowing into the bush at full speed.

Once she got the hang of it, she just went in circles and did donuts on the tennis court.

"Eggcellent Family Adventure"

This morning we went with Courtney, Paul, Trent and Elise to our city's Easter Egg Hunt. It isn't actually so much a hunt as a travel from sponsored table to table and pick up eggs, toys and treats. A lot of local businesses and organizations had tables with games, treats and eggs. The goal was to find one of a dozen or so golden eggs to win a huge basket full of stuff. Of course we didn't get a golden egg, but we got a few dozen plastic eggs filled with stickers and little toys. It was a fun morning.

I was hoping to maybe get a picture of Lily and the Easter bunny, so I dressed her up a little. I was SO excited when she actually agreed to pig tails! We haven't really bought a Easter dress for this year yet, but surprisingly she still fit into this 2T dress that belonged to Alyson! She wore it last season and I loved it and it was perfect for today (a little short, but still good!).

Elise and Lily

I had to laugh when they were doing the exact same silly thing in all the pictures -- too bad they didn't coordinate looking at the camera and smiling!

Getting eggs for her basket (that I ended up carrying the whole time along with the balloon and everything else she collected).

A local church gave out peeps and jellybeans and she didn't waste anytime digging into that bag!

Playing a bean bag toss game for a prize.

Elise and Lily

In line to see the Easter bunny. They were both smiling and waving and him. Lily has been asking for "Princess and the Frog" and "Alice in Wonderland" on DVD and I keep telling her she needs to ask the Easter Bunny, so she was glad to see him. How come that didn't work 3 months ago with Santa??

She did it!!!
She was hesitant and said no at first, but the lady working there took her up and Lily went and actually allowed the lady to pick her up and put her on the Easter Bunny's lap!!

They took professional pictures for free which will be available online in 4 days, so I'll post that too once I get it.
I was so proud of her.

I love the look she is giving him here!
As soon as she got off his lap she asked me, "Ok, I get Alice in Wonderland now?" She is a little annoyed that she has to wait until Easter next weekend, I think she wanted the bunny to hand it to her right then and there. I couldn't even give it to her now if I wanted -- it doesn't come out until Tuesday!

Elise, Lily, and Trent

Bounce House!

We got there at 9am, right when it started which was smart since it wasn't so crowded then. We stayed about an hour and left as it was getting really really busy. But the kids all got cookies to eat on the ride home (like 5 whole minutes away).

At home checking out all her goodies. Lots of sandwich crackers (peanut butter, oreo looking cookies, vanilla creme crackers, etc), bubbles, coloring books, key chains, pens, pencils, chip clips, stickers, crayons, coupons for free kids meals, etc. . . She even got a pink hockey puck from the local team.

A little plastic frog from inside an egg.

Our Busy Week

We've had a busy week as usual, so sorry I am behind again in my blogging. Monday was Chip's day off and as usual we went out to lunch and hung out and Monday night Lily went to play with grandma and grandpa while I went to spin class. Tuesday after school Lily was begging to go to the park, but none of her friends were available, so I begrudgingly walked to the park with her (I wasn't feeling it as much as she was). After we were there for a bit my Mom drove up and played for a few minutes and then we spontaneously went shopping with her for decorations for the guest room. It was already a long day by the time Lily took her nap, so of course she slept for nearly four hours!! Wednesday we stayed home and spent the whole morning cleaning the house and doing laundry. It was not so much fun, but needed to be done. Thursday after school we (spontaneously again!) went to lunch with Courtney, Trent and Elise at Chik Fil-A which was a lot of fun, but I didn't have my camera and then Lily and I went to the market for groceries. Today, Friday, was playgroup at the park. On top of all that I have gotten in over 17 hours of work since Monday. It is all great and may not seem like that much, but we are constancy moving!

Here are some of the photo highlights from the week:

At the park on Tuesday.
I am trying to get her out of the baby swings and into the big swings, but she doesn't like them as much since I won't push her as high.

.......................
Helping me make dinner on Tuesday night (yes, I am still on the home cooking streak!). We had pasta and Lily helped with the breadsticks.

Watching TV with daddy.
..........................
The following photo was the highlight of my week:
Lily ate a burrito!!!
Miss picky eater decided on Wednesday night that she wanted one of my yummy frozen Amy's organic bean burritos. I didn't think she'd eat it and I was more than happy when she actually took a bite. I was ecstatic when she actually ate almost the whole thing!! I open and eat mine like that because I am weird and like to eat the beans and rice and eat the tortilla last (as a dessert) and she ate hers the same way. I wonder if she'll eat one again anytime soon!
.........................
Wednesday and Thursday night we got the Wii Fit out and I actually got in over 30 minutes of exercise each night which is pretty good considering I had to take turns with Lily and keep her entertained. She is getting pretty good, but some things don't register right since she is only 33 pounds.
..........................
I've mentioned before how Lily's new thing is to just play in the car at my parent's house. Well when Chip got home Thursday night she was all ready and got her own shoes and socks on and was waiting for him at the back door since she wanted to go "drive with daddy".
Apparently she likes the music loud and likes to honk the horn since I heard both as I was inside making dinner.

They were going to Target to buy Cheerios.

.........................

Walking to playgroup this morning at the park.

From tonight -- she wanted to play outside.
She tried her scooter a little, but was convinced she was going to fall.

Playing in the sand.
That was our busy week.
