Gotta get ready for our upcoming vacation!!  Can you say spoiled??

Chuck E Cheese

Dani has been begging me to take her to Chuck E Cheese.  She sees the commercials on TV, but I have never brought her there.  I promised her we would go this summer, and my promised was fulfilled at Macy's 5th birthday party! Dani was so excited and had so much fun (it would have been better if it wasn't for the Chuck E Cheese mascot, she was terrified of him). 

It was a whole different experience with Dani than with Lily.  Lily just wanted to ride the little cars and stuff (which didn't give tickets) and then get upset when she didn't have many tickets.  Dani, on the other hand just wanted tickets.  Lots of tickets.  She wanted to play every game with a buzzer, light or bell that spit out tickets.  She may have a gambling problem when she gets older.  She was so excited!!

The ONLY thing she wanted to do that didn't have tickets -- this girl also loves her racing games.

It was a fun afternoon with my girl.  I may even take her back again!

Girl Scout Overnight

With the money they earned from Cookie sales, Lily's Brownie troop voted to go spend the night at Katelyn's family's lakehouse about an hour away at Lake Texoma.   We actually went there last summer for playgroup and played on the beach and in the sand/mud.  But this year, with all the rains, the lake flooded.  Big time flooded.  Many homes were lost and the lake is still not really safe to play in.  So that changed up plans a bit.  Thankfully, their house is fine, but the beach is underwater and the kids couldn't go play in the lake.  But they still had TONS of activities and had a great time!

They had an opening ceremony and sang their songs. 

Then they were divided into groups for crafts.  Lily, Abby and Ashley were together and started out by putting their names on their t-shirts with fabric.

Then they made "swaps" that looked likes s'mores and campfires,

Lastly they colored water bottle holders.

The groups of three were also always responsible for a task at meal times.  For lunch, Lily's group were the hosts and set the table and sang a welcome song and prayer.

Next up, knot tying!  They learned three different types of knots. 

Lily, Abby and Ashley were in charge of making dinner. They made a southwest pasta and a salad!  It was good and I think helping make it, helped encourage Lily to eat it. :)

Julie and I even tried the vaccum packed trout that Caren wouldn't stop talking about.  Gross.

After dinner we all went over to the Eisenhower State Park and met up with a Ranger who took us on a hike and taught the girls about the area and nature.

10:30p.  Lights out!  The girls all slept upstairs in the playroom.  I shared the master bedroom with Julie.

They had a "Jungle" breakfast where we had to hide the food for them to find.  See the orange and banana in the hammock.

They had a closing ceremony and patch presentation and we hit the road by 10:45am.  It was a great 24 hours!!!
