Potty

Dani asked to go potty today.  She didn't actually go, but she was proud to sit there at then wash her hands.  This is how it all starts -- I am SO not ready for this.  Not my baby!!!!

Color Run!

I had the bright idea to do the Color Run 5K at 8am the morning after Pearl Jam.  I knew a lot of people who have done the Color Run and even though I am not a runner, it looked fun.  So I started a team, The Dashing Fluffy Tutus, and signed up!  It was me, Rhiannon, Sara, Scott, Ben, Maddie, Shelley, Olivia, Jill, Logan, Truitt, Richie and Richie's sister Kim.  I was pretty tired after a measly 4 hours of sleep, but I was ready to go!!

 The team before the race.

We're off!  It was a 5K and they had 4 color stops along the way which you ran through and people threw colored power at you.  Not sure why, but it was fun.  I walked (with most of my team) most of the way.

After the run they had music, games and "color throws" where the crowd would throw tons of color power in the air and we'd all get colorized.  Again, not sure why, but this was fun! :)

Look at my teeth.  gross.

After staying around for 3-4 color throws!

Obviously, Rhiannon and I got a little crazier in the color than Shelley and Sara!

On the way home we were all hungry, so we stopped at Denny's for breakfast.  Looking just like this.  Didn't even think to wipe my face!!  It was a fun morning and I am glad I can say I did it!

PEARL JAM!!

I had tickets to see Pearl Jam on Friday night!  I was SO excited.  I hadn't seen them in 7 years (gasp! only seen Eddie's solo concerts in that time) and they had not been to Dallas in over ten years.  I got fan club tickets so I knew I'd have preety good seats.  I've been waiting for this day for months!!  When Chip got sick with gallstones, I was SO bummed and afraid I wouldn't get to go.  I was excited to take Chip as he has never gone with me to a PJ concert and never seen them live.  I was so sad that he couldn't go, but Rhiannon came with me.  It was her first Pearl Jam experience and I think it was a good one.  They are amazing live.  It was awesome and our seats weren't half bad either!!

We had seats in the 4th row, right off the stage.  There were literally only 3 seats better than us and Eddie's personal guests a baseball player (Sean Casey) and singer/actress (Carrie Brownstein) were in the row BEHIND us!!  It was SO cool.

 Hi Mike!

It doesn't get Eddie Vedder than this!!!

Perfection!!  He ended up throwing the tambourine to a little boy in the row in front of us, so I couldn't complain too much.  But look at that smile on "Happy guy Eddie Vedder!!"  Best concert EVER!  Nineteen years in the Ten Club has been totally worth it!

Diva

I told Dani it was time to get ready to go to Grandma's house.  She said "ok. I'll be right back" and came out like this.  She is such a character!!!

Gallstones

Chip went to the ER Wednesday night with what turned out to be gallstones in his gallbladder and main bile duct.  So he was scheduled for a routine ERSP to scope out the stones and then have his gallbladder removed once the inflammation and infection went away.  Pretty common procedure and simple stuff in the medical field.  However, there were some major complications during the noninvasive, simple procedure and he is very very very lucky to still be with us today.  We owe a lot to a quick acting anesthesiologist who saved his life.  It is impossible for me to fully grasp it all and I don't really want to go there.   I am just thankful that he is out of pain and still alive.  He was in the hospital until Sunday afternoon.  He still has his gallbladder and will have to go back in a few weeks have that taken out.

Exactly 28 days away from being a legitimate RN, he was reading his own vitals which gave him comfort in confirming that he was going to be okay.
Visiting Daddy!  They both did really well in the hospital.  They didn't visit when he was in the ICU and hooked up to oxygen, so it wasn't scary or too traumatizing.
Lily kept me company at night and read me bedtime stories.

We'd send pictures and videos to daddy at night like this one.

Nude Artist

Dani loves to paint.  She loves anything artistic (and demonstrated by nearly everything, toy and wall in our house colored on with crayons).  But paints can get kinda messy and even though they are "washable" I try to avoid too big a mess.  Hence her constant naked painting!

Sous Chef

Dani LOVES to help me out around the house which is so nice and sweet.  Hopefully this trend continues when she can actually really help out around the house!  Last week she "helped" me cut the veggies for dinner.  Armed with an infant butter knife she poked the heck out of a lemon and was so happy and proud.

Last Soccer Saturday (for now)

Lily had her last soccer game for the Fall Season.  I kind of thought that after this year she would want to move on from soccer, but she is loving it and was so bummed it was over!!  Guess we are signing up for soccer again in the spring!
