Snow Much Fun

I was feeling kind of bad that I didn't get out to play in the snow with Lily more.  But it has been SO cold and it is hard to do much out there with Danielle around.  Since Chip was home again today, and it was significantly warmer, I had him watch Dani inside while Lily and I went out to have some quality time in the snow.
 First we built a snowman . . .  doing a handstand!

It is hard to see in the picture.  Lily's poses crack me up.

Then we got in the trampoline!  Lily was afraid, but I made her go.  It was so fun.

 We jumped . . . .
  . . .  we fell  .. . .
  . . .  we had a snowball fight!!

It was fun and I'm glad we got to play since a lot of the snow melted this evening!  Hopefully we'll get some more soon!

Snow Day

The day after Christmas was just as perfect as the previous 2 days.  We were snowed in and the golf course closed so we got to have daddy home for yet another day!!  We watched movies, played with all our new toys and just relaxed.  It was awesome.

In the morning Lily made us pink cookies with lemon frosting in her new Easy Bake Oven.  I thought she'd LOVE this gift, but she lost interest and got bored while waiting 20 minutes for it to warm up.  We'll try again soon.

Danielle had a blast playing in the Minnie Mouse ball pit that Lily got her for Christmas.

They were too cute!

And SO sweet!
We even went out to play in the snow some more.  It wasn't as cold since it had stopped actually snowing.

Chip came out and chipped some of the ice off the driveway so he could get the car out -- he needed to get to my parent's house to pick up my Christmas lasagna!!

 Mario Kart with his girls.
In the evening we went to Jeff and Elan's house for Boxing Day dinner.  It was so nice of them to have just us over for dinner to celebrate Boxing Day.  Dani and Abby are so cute together and Danielle was such a big girl sitting at the kids table and eating the turkey, rice, potatoes and vegetables that Jeff made.  (again, she ate more than Lily!)
Getting ready for bed in her new One Direction pajamas with her new headphones, new ipod and new stuffie.  It's been an amazing week so far filled with family, fun and relaxation.

White Christmas!!

Even though it was 20 degrees out with wind chills in the teens and still windy and snowing, we had to go out and play on this magical white Christmas!!  Not only was it a perfect day, but it was Danielle's first snow!!  We didn't get any snow last year, so it was even more exciting that Dani's first snow was on Christmas Day.   She wasn't scared of it like Lily was the first time it snowed, but she wasn't quite sure what to do at first.  I think the fact that she couldn't move in all her jackets and the fact that she had to wear the boots she hates (which are NOT snow boots, but the best we could do) make her a little leery at first.

Her mittens would not stay on.  Thankfully, her sleeves were long enough to help keep her hands warm.
Lily got a new scarf, hat and gloves for Christmas -- perfect timing!

Amazed that her sand froze solid.

"Snowball" fight -- although the snow was too powdery to actually form balls.

She reached down to touch the snow.  She was starting to really get into it.  She's brave and adventurous.  Not sure how I feel about that.

I love the snow!!

Weeeee

Dani threw a fit when I brought her in -- especially since Chip and Lily stayed to play a bit more, but it was SO cold and she doesn't have the right clothes.  I am glad she had fun in the snow.

Our house on Christmas night looked so beautiful lit up and covered in snow.

Since we were snowed in and our Christmas leftovers were stranded at my Mom's house, we had to improvise and made Mac and Cheese and Grilled Cheese sandwiches for Christmas dinner.  The perfect end to an absolutely perfect day!!!  It was on of the best Christmases yet!!
