Easter

After Dani's short and crappy nap (note to self -- maybe chocolate in the am is not the best idea), we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for Easter "Linner" and another egg hunt!

All ready to go -- trying to get a good picture of these two is very difficult!
So excited to run around Grandma's house.

Grandma bought Dani a Sophia the first doll and Lily a Doc McStuffins play set!

Lunch Time!  Dani had her highchair, but tried to steal my egg before she even got to her chair.
Lily was amazingly helpful all day!  She helped Grandma set the table and clean up after dinner.  She is maturing so much.  I was so proud of her.
After we ate Dani played the piano and "sang" for us.  I tried to video it, but whenever I did she would stop.

(I think she looks just like Shirley Temple in this profile pic)

While we were waiting for everyone to clean up after lunch, Dani was finding eggs before the official hunt began.  She is still calling them "balls" and throws them.  All those eggs were not on the floor till Dani found them, yelled "Ball" and tossed them across the room.
 Easter Egg Hunt time!
 What the heck?  It's empty!

After the hunt the girls played doctor for awhile.

After we had dessert and then played the Disney version of Apples to Apples.  We were having so much fun playing that I didn't get any pictures.  But it was a huge success and we played for hours.  I was so impressed with how well Lily did in grasping the concept of the game and reading the cards!  She loved it.  We all can't wait to play again.

Trying to get a decent family picture!

It was a great Easter!!

Easter Morning

The Easter bunny came last night!!  Since we were expecting (and got) a pretty good thunderstorm in the morning, he hid the eggs inside again this year.  77 eggs in just the living room!!  4 filled with Easter themed Little People for Danielle and the rest filled with coins, candy and erasers for Lily.

Lily got gardening supplies with seeds to plant, books, bracelets, hair things, dry erase boards to practice writing, crackers, candy, erasers, pencils, stickers, etc in her basket.
Danielle got a Cinderella carriage, coloring book, board books, crackers, bracelets and hair things in her basket.

 Finding their baskets!

Dani had to put on her new headband.

 The hunt begins!

Dani didn't waste much time getting the candy open.  Here she is "sneaking" her first Hershey Kiss.

And eating a Reeses Peanut Butter cup.
Lily got Silly Putty and was memorized with it.  It made me happy to see that she could enjoy the simple toys like Silly Putty since she is so technology driven.

Dying Eggs!

As is the tradition we colored our Easter eggs the night before Easter.  Lily was SO excited and so into this year.  I love that she enjoys these traditions that I love so much.  She even helped me boil the eggs earlier in the day.  I wanted Dani to be part of the process, but there was no way I was letting her near the dye!!  She is too crazy.  So I came up with the great idea to give her eggs to color.  She could just draw on them with crayons and we could always put them in the dye after she added her art.  If it didn't work no big deal -- we boiled 18, so there were plently for everyone.

Lily using the "egg crayon" to draw on her egg.
Dani drew on hers for about 20 seconds . . .
  . . . then she tried to eat it . . .
. . . . and then she had fun holding it up and dropping it on her tray . . .

. . . . once she caught on that it was cracking, she started banging it on the tray!
"What happened to my poor egg?"

Oops I broke it!!  (can you see the yoke on her tray and the egg in two halves?)
Told you she was crazy!  Poor egg never stood a chance.
Lily meanwhile, was going to town and having fun.  She was an egg dying machine and was having fun experimenting with colors and designs.
Dani was getting antsy and REALLY wanted a cup of dye.  I had an old extra dye cup that we didn't use, so I gave her that and plastic eggs.  That kept her entertained for another minute.

Poor Danielle just wanted down and to do the same thing Lily was doing.  But I couldn't let her out of her highchair with all those cups of dye on the table -- that would be a disaster.  So we had to put "Barney" on the ipad for her top watch.  We normally don't watch Barney, so it was a "treat" for her.

 Us and our eggs!
Lily colored 9 eggs.  I did 5 and Chip made 2.  Dani broke one and snacked on another. :)
