BFF's

A big group of us went out last Saturday to celebrate Scott's birthday at Top Golf.  But this Saturday was his actual birthday and Rhiannon was having him, Sara, Ben and Maddie over for dinner and they invited us.  It was fun as always, but the highlight of the night was watching Dani and Abby play.  They get along SO well and were so cute and grown up.  It was bittersweet, but awesome.

Eating pizza together
They took turns pushing each other around the house (even though they had 2 cars).  It was great how they took turns on their own and laughed the whole time.  They were having SO much fun.  I wish I would have brought my real camera and not just my phone.
Eating cake.  Dani adores Auntie Rhiannon.
Playing on 'their' iphones.

More car rides!!
They are the cutest thing!!

Family Fitness Night

Friday night at Lily's school they had Family Fitness Night.  There were booths set up in the cafeteria and multipurpose room from local doctors, gyms, healthy restaurants etc.  Zumba and Yoga classes in a few of the classrooms and tons of fun activities in the gym.  It is a great concept to get the kids excited about health and exposed to different forms of exercise and sports.  Of course Lily learned that she has ZERO interest in Zumba, yoga, martial arts, skateboarding, jump roping, hula hooping, obstacle courses, basketball, doing planks and push ups or eating cucumbers on wheat toast. But she did wait in line for 20 minutes for a balloon flower!   That's my girl!!  :)

Weeee

Dani has been loving the slides at the park and Gymboree, so Friday after her nap I got her little slide out.  It was Lily's and has been sitting in Dani's room since before she was born, but this was her first time on it.  She climbed right up and slid down . . .  but it went FAST and she flew down that thing!!   So she was a little hesitant to slide again, but I held her hands and she loved it.  She's so cute, she yells "Weeee" as she goes down.

Little Beauty

Friday afternoon Dani and I met Rhiannon and Abby for lunch.  Dani had to get ready and beautified before we went . . . although in my opinion, there is nothing she could do to make her any cuter than she already is!!

Foggy Morning

Wednesday morning was another fun, foggy walk to school.

Hair Cut

Lily hates brushing her hair or having her hair brushed everyday since it gets so knotty at night.  She also fights me when it comes time to style her hair -- with a headband, ponytail, etc.. . .  So most of the time she just has messy straggly hair.  So I suggested getting it cut shorter.  As much as it killed me to have her cut her hair, I knew it would look better as we'd all be happier.  She fought me for awhile, but it seems that lately a whole handful of her friends have cut their hair to shoulder length so she was willing and excited to make the change.

Ta da!  It looks super cute and she LOVES it.

It was a little hard to watch them cut a good 4 inches off her hair.  But it just looks nicer and neater and I so glad that she loves it.

Thank Yous

Lily is supposed to be writing the Thank You notes for her birthday presents all by herself.  She can do it, should do it and could use the extra handwriting practice.  Of course Lily is stubborn and lazy and is fighting me on it.  Apparently, she found someone to write them for her . . .

Say Cheese!

Most of the time now when you hold up a camera or phone to take a picture Dani will say "Cheeeeese".  It is pretty darn cute!!

This is her "Cheeeese" face!

Lily's Birthday Do-Over

Since I was so sick on Lily's actual birthday, I promised I would make it up to her and we would have a birthday do-over day full of fun and whatever she wanted to do.  Last Monday Lily had the day off of school and it was Chip's last day before school started, so it was the perfect do over day.

We started the day with breakfast at our favorite pancake place.  Then we went home to play and get Dani down for a nap.  Then Lily and I met Carys and Rhiannon for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then went for mani/pedis.  After that we picked up Chip (Grandma came to watch Dani) and met with Rhiannon, Carys and Matthew at Top Golf.  After that we hooked up with Grandma and Grandpa for dinner at Uncle Julios!!  It was a fun, busy day and exactly what Lily wanted.   It was fun.  We should have random birthday days throughout the year!

Can you see her ball in the top center?  She had a few great shots and did good for her first time (but still needs a lot of practice)!

Piggies

Just when you think she can't possible be any cuter. . . .  I go and put pigtails in her hair!!

I didn't get any great photos, but I am sure I will go it again soon and have a zillion pics to post.  She looked older, which I didn't love, but it was too cute!!

Scooting

Lily got a new scooter from Rhiannon, Ben, Matthew, Carys and Abby for her birthday.  She was very excited and couldn't wait to ride it to and from school like her friend Cora.  Finally on Thursday it was warm enough (remember snow on Tuesday??) so I brought it to pick up for her to ride home.  Um . . . Yeah, she needs some scooter lessons.  I LOVE the fact that she is overly cautious and not a crazy daredevil, but she needed to take one foot off the ground in order to scoot.  We ended up dragging it home and promised to practice more.

Trying to scooter home from school.

On Saturday afternoon Cora's mom emailed me and asked if Lily wanted to come over to practice riding the scooter in their cul-de-sac.  We thought if she watched Cora do it, it would help and give her some confidence.  Cora lives right around the corner, so I watched Lily walk to the corner and Cora's mom watched her as she disappeared from my sight.  We  called each other as we saw her.  It worked perfectly and Lily go to walk to her friend's house (while dragging her scooter behind her) like a big girl!
There goes Lily -- off to Cora's house.

17 Months Old!

My littlest princess is 17 months old!!  She is just as silly and happy as ever.  She loves to dance and play with her sister.  She gives the best kisses and hugs and will just run up to me to give me and hug and a kiss and then go off and continue playing.  It is the sweetest.  Her vocabulary is expanding too -- she now says Mama, Dada, Hi, bye, Elmo, MMMM Mou (Mickey Mouse), Wa Wa (water), Santa Ho Ho Ho (she still gets excited to see Santa) and Lily.  She just started saying Lily and it melts my heart every time I hear it.  When she wakes up or walks into a room and sees Lily she gets the biggest smile, gets all excited and yells "Hi Lily!!".  It makes me so happy.

For her 17 month pictures (I kinda slacked off at 16 months!), I was excited to dress her up in the Rapunzel Princess dress that Patti bought for her way back when she was a little baby.  It is size 12 months, so I didn't want to wait too much longer.  Dani loved being a princess and I'm sure she'll get dressed up in the dress again soon.

Of course she has her bracelets on!

When we were getting ready to leave the house, she randomly came running out of the front room holding the toy frying pan from Lily's kitchen.  If you've seen  the movie "Tangled" you know how perfect and hilarious this is!!  Dani had no idea what she was doing, but it was so perfect I had to bring the frying pan with us for the pictures!

She was having so much fun running through the greenbelt in her dress!  It was pretty cold out, so we couldn't stay too long.

Gymboree

Chip got to go to Gymboree with us this week.  Dani was SO cute and SO excited to have Dada there.  It made his day.  It was so sweet watching them play together.

Snow?!?

We woke up Tuesday morning to snow!!  And a pretty decent amount of snow too!  It wasn't in the forecast, so it was a huge surprise in the morning.  Lily was so excited and school wasn't cancelled, so she all the kiddos were hyped up.  The pictures don't show it, but it was snowing huge fluffy flakes.  It was pretty cool.   It stopped mid morning and most of it melted off by the time school was out.  But it was fun and made for a pretty morning.

At school in the snow!

Girl Scout Cookies!

My little Daisy is selling Girl Scout cookies.  She is kind of excited, but also kind of not really sure what is going on or why she is selling cookies.   But she was jazzed to visit some of her friends houses to sell (I emailed people first before we came by -- I HATE selling stuff and I didn't want to put anybody on the spot).  She did good and just looked so cute walking around the neighborhood going up to houses with her little clipboard!

Here she is at Logan's house.

We've done better than I expected -- she has sold 55 boxes so far!!  I admit, I did most of the selling to friends and family and half of our boxes are being donated to the troops.  But our goal was 50 and we surpassed that so I am happy!!

So Cool

Lily got these heart sunglasses as a birthday present.  They are a little too small for Lily, but fit Dani perfectly and she can not get enough of them.  She has worn them around the house for the past two days.  She just puts them on, sometimes asks me to help her put them on, and then goes about playing as normal.  It is the cutest thing EVER!!!

Just kicking it on the Kindle with the shades.  I can't believe she just leaves them on and leaves them alone.  She is so stylin like that!
