Cookie Booth

Lily and her Daisy troop sold cookies outside of Kroger this morning.  Lily wasn't too excited at first and was really quiet and shy.  But of course, right as our shift was over she was totally getting into it and loving it.  She didn't want to leave!  We had the booth for 2 hours which were broken up into three 40 minute shifts.  We sold 27 boxes on our shift!  I was proud of us.  We get to do it again next weekend at another supermarket.  Lily is so excited -- it is so cute!!  I think this is really good for Lily and I am glad she ended up having fun!

Sweet Dreams

She had lunch with her BFF Abby on Friday and was all tuckered out.

Makeover

Dani wanted to play with my makeup while I was getting ready and when she grabbed the bright blue pallet of eyeshadow I bought for Halloween I didn't care since I'll probably never use it again.   I underestimated her (yet again) and didn't think she would be able to get it open.  She did.

She is so proud since she looks like Mommy (both with makeup and currently with the black eye!)

Big Brother (or Little Daughter)

Lily said something to me Friday morning about watching me all day.  I honestly didn't think too much of it until I saw this toy camcorder set up on the bookshelf pointed at my spot on the couch.

Respect

At this weeks Girl Scout's meeting, the girls worked on learning about respect for the "Respect" Petal on their big Daisy patch.  We had a local police office come in a talk to the girls about respecting authority figures and how important such people are to their lives and civilization as a whole.  It was a good meeting.  My personal favorite part was when he asked what respect was and Lily's hand immediately shot up and she answered, "It is when you listen to someone and you don't interrupt."  I had to stifle a chortle as Lily is terrible at both these things -- at least when it comes to respecting her parents!

Cheesy

Lily loves Parmesan cheese.  Well, that is kind of an understatement. . . .  Lily REALLY LOVES Parmesan cheese.  She puts it on anything and everything and just likes to eat blocks of it as a snack.  The other night she discovered her new favorite snack -- Parmesan cheese on apples.  She is weird.

Just Because . . .

They are SO freaking cute!

Nesting Blocks

I got Lily's old nesting blocks out for Danielle.  They were always a favorite of Lily's, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much Dani LOVES them.  She was having so much fun stacking them up and knocking them down and would get so excited when we built a tower.  We literally played with them for over an hour.  It was so fun and it is so nice that in this age of iphone and ipads (which she is very efficient with) that simple nesting blocks can still provide hours of fun!

 Knocking them down!
 Stacking them back up!

 So proud of herself.

18 Month Stats

Danielle had her 18 month doctor appointment this week, and just as we suspected, she is absolutely perfect!  She's also had quite a growth spurt in the last 3 months.

Her official stats are:

Weight -- 22lbs 6.4ox --- 21%
Length -- 32.5 in --- 73%
Head -- 19in --- 90%

She has 16 teeth and is pretty much done with teeth until her 2 year molars come in.  She is growing up way to fast!!

Shiner

I wish I had an awesome story for my black eye, but I just got headbutted by Dani.  I was laying on the bed and she flung back into me.  It hurt!! That fuzzy head offered no extra cushion! It's been a week since it happened and I still have a pretty impressive shiner.

18 Months Old!!

It is mind blowing that Danielle is 18 months old.  I'm really not sure how she is already well on her way to 2 years old.  That being said, her personality is pretty much already 2.  She has started the "mine" phase and nearly perfected her temper tantrums.  She is strong willed and doesn't like to take no for an answer.  But, she is still the sweetest little girl who loves to give big tight hugs and kisses.  Dancing is her favorite pastime.  She seems to add new words to her vocabulary daily, sometimes saying things perfectly and then not again for awhile.  She is just so fun and we all love her so much!  I am excited for the next phase as her personality really shines.

We had a quick photo shoot yesterday.  It is hard to get her to slow down for a minute to get a picture, but I got a few decent ones . . .  and a few of Lily too!

 My little diva!

More Beads!

Lily went to play at Emily's house yesterday and got a whole bunch of new Mardi Gras beads and toys from Emily who just got back from New Orleans!  Needless to say, they are a huge hit with both girly girls!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is so much fun with the girls.  Chip and I have never really done a whole lot for Valentine's Day, and that is perfectly fine by me.  I have more fun watching the kids have fun with it.  Since I am the party mom for Lily's class, I have been busy for weeks getting the Valentine Party together -- making crafts, games, goodie bags and sugar cookies.  We also had to make a Valentine Box and do Lily's Valentine cards.  It's been busy!!

Lily passed out Hello Kitty valentines with tattoos and cupcake flavored Goldfish crackers to her class.

 She was excited! :)

At the class party, the kids decorated and ate sugar cookies.

And made handprint Valentines.

Trying to get a picture of the two of them . . .
 That's a little better!
Dance party time!!  We usually end up putting music on and dancing at least once a day -- usually when the girls are getting out of control.  It helps to focus their energy  . . .  and it's fun!  So here are pics from our Valentine dance party!!

 More dancing

When Daddy got home it was dinner and present time!  He bought the girls teddy bears as is the tradition.  Lily got a HUGE bear this year.  She was so excited!
Lily passing out the presents she got for us!  Little teddy bears she bought at school.

Lily bought Dani a teddy bear too -- Lily really is VERY thoughtful.
