Back to the Castle Night!

On Thursday night we had "Back to the Castle" night or meet the teacher night at Lily's school (her mascot is a knight, so they call the school the castle).   Lily was nervous and excited to go to the big school and meet her kindergarten teacher.  Chip and I had met her on Tuesday at a parent's orientation.  Lily had TONS of questions about her . . . hair.  What color is her hair?  Is it long or short?  Straight or curly?  At least she has her priorities straight!

Outside her school!
Outside her class --  she has Mrs. Savitch.
Linda, Jeremy and Katie met us there to check out the school!  (The pictures are a little out of order since Linda took a lot for me with her camera, so I wouldn't look like the crazy mom!)
Above and below is the computer lab.
You are never too young to learn to tweet!
In the Library!

In the hallway.  Coming from California, it is still crazy to have indoor schools!
Inside her classroom!

The behavior chart -- each kid has a clip and they chart their behavior all day long.

Us meeting Mrs Savitch.
Lily's cubby!
Her class has an outer space theme -- there is Lily's little alien on  the bulletin board!
This really helped Lily get excited for school!  In fact she woke up today (Saturday) all bummed out that she still had to get through Sunday before school started.  She is ready!!  My big girl!!

The only down side to Thursday night was that it meant having to say goodbye to Linda, Jeremy and Katie as they were flying home bright and early on Friday.  It is always hard to say goodbye, but we know we'll see them again soon!

Swim Lessons

Lily had her last swim lesson of the year on Thursday.  We're not going to continue through he fall since she won't be doing much swimming and there will hardly be time with school, dance and soccer starting up!  She has made such amazing progress this year and can actually swim across the pool all by herself!  I am so proud of her and she is pretty proud of herself.  She was even inspired this summer to try to make the Olympic swim team. . . . .  maybe we should continue in the fall then after all! :)

The last day of the session is always the "safety class".  You wear your clothes over your suit and they throw you in the pool in order to prepare you in case you ever accidentally fall in fully clothed.  Above she is waiting for Mr Schyler to tip her over into the water.  She loved Schyler and I think he was a big part of her making such progress this summer!
Here is a video of Lily getting to the side after being dumped into the pool.

This video is from a few weeks back, but it was the only one I could find of her swimming across by herself!

Kater-Tot!

When I took Danielle's 6 months pictures back in February, Linda asked if I could do the same photos of Katie when they came out again.  Here are my favorites of my beautiful 7 month old niece:

Pool Time

I took everyone over to the pool in Rhiannon's neighborhood since it is only 1 foot deep and perfect for the little ones.  It was a cooler morning, so we had the whole pool to ourselves which was perfect!!  Lily, Jeremy and Dani had a blast and didn't want to leave.  It was a fun morning.

The pool has fun fountains!!  The kids were scared at first, but I ran through them and carried Lily under kicking, screaming and laughing.  That helped to break the ice.  I even carried Dani under and she LOVED it.  She was laughing and had the biggest smile.  She's my crazy girl!

The best part was since it was so shallow, her float acted like a "walker" in the pool and she just went wherever she wanted!  She was having the best time.

She spend most of the timer trying to drink the pool and licking her hand.

More Family Fun

We had another fun week with Linda, Jeremy and Katie.  Usually they would come over here to play in the morning, until nap time for the babies and then everyone but Dani and I would head over to Grandma's house to play some more until Dani woke up and we went over to join them.  It was nice, quality time and I know Lily LOVES just spending time with Aunt Linda, Jeremy and Katie.

Crazy Danielle likes to climb into the cabinet.
Playing with Katie.

She is getting better and now can do her move with no hands!
Playing with Grandpa.

Back in her cabinet!
Kids these days -- just hanging out on their ipads.
Eating one of Jeremy's trucks.
Curled up watching "Thomas the Train".
Katie bouncing!

Everyone just playing together.

All tuckered out!
