Today was Lily's last day of preschool! I can't believe that her first year is already over!! After all the anxiety and concern about it, it's done and it was a huge success. So much, in fact, that she is going to summer school for the month of June -- so really, she is only out for a week and then will have one of the same teachers, Ms Melinda, and Matthew, Carys, Makayla, Luke and Emily in her class!! We decided to do summer school since her best friends from school were going and as a bonus Patti signed Emily up too (she usually goes to a different preschool). So Lily is "super excited". That is what she said.
Of course Lily really didn't grasp the concept that this was the last day of school. But we still wanted to do something fun to celebrate. So Lily and I, along with Makayla and Jenn and Rhiannon, Matthew and Carys went to Chick Fil-A for lunch and play. Of course, the kids had a blast.

Throughout the school year, I would get progress reports home from the teachers. I always meant to blog them, but never got around to it. So, here is her year end report! Most of the time she always "mastered" everything. Except for cutting with scissors, we never worked on that at home. But I bought her a pair of safety scissors, so she'll be ready to go next year!
I don't like to use the big computer with the scanner, so I just took a picture of the progress report . Sorry if it is hard to read.
She kinda counts objects, so I would say progressing. But she has definitely has not mastered it yet. Sometimes she gets it right and sometimes she'll just keep counting to 20 when there are only 5 items.
It is crazy to me that she is just "progressing" in group songs since all she ever does at home is sing songs from school. She must get shy in class.
But otherwise she has always done well in class and gets along so well with all her "school friends", as she calls them!

I also fell behind in blogging all her artwork from school. She brings home a new project daily! This post seemed like the perfect time to catch up. They are out of order, since I just stacked them in the office or put them on the refrigerator, but you get the idea.

From Valentine's Day and International Week

Then we took it outside. 
She liked her little birdie, but didn't give him a name.
We brought it dinner (mashed up cheerios and goldfish) and water and thought he would be around for awhile since he couldn't fly over the fence yet. However, Friday morning he was gone. I'm not quite sure where he went. . . . but Friday evening as I was headed out front to get the mail, I encountered a snake on my doorstep! The snake got away (fast!) before I could get a picture, so I am not sure what kind it was, but I wonder if he found the bird overnight?
