Kevin Costner Concert!

Yeah, you read that right -- last night Chip and I went to a Kevin Costner & Modern West concert.  In Oklahoma.  At an Indian Casino.  (never thought I'd say any of those words!).  It was a great night.  We got there early to play around and have dinner.  The casino was definitely not in Vegas and very much in Oklahoma -- we had tons of fun people watching and kinda felt like we stuck out for being too normal looking!   Our first stop was at the Wheel of Fortune slots where Chip won $500 right off the bat!!  I made him cash out and walk away, although that wasn't easy for either of us.  We played a little more and weren't wining anything.  So we stopped while we were still very much ahead.

All ready for the show!!
The venue was a pretty small room, so there wasn't a bad seat in the house.  But all I had was my camera phone, so the best pics I got were of the big screens even though he wasn't that far away.

As much as of super fan that I am, I only know a couple of his songs.  But it was still fun.  Chip even enjoyed it since Cosnter would tell stories about the songs, his life and the movies that inspired the songs.  He even took a moment to thank all the husbands that were good sports and accompanied their wives there.   It was good to know that Kevin didn't have any illusions of grandeur -- it was fun watching him having fun pretending to be a rock star.

A Basket Full of Nuts

Lily made her own lounger and would have chilled in there all day if I didn't need my basket back.

This Week In Crazy

Here are some highlights of my crazy from the week:

I didn't grab the camera in time, but Danielle was just standing on her own in the middle of the room.  It won't be long until she starts walking.
Kisses for Rapunzel
Patti and I took the girls to Cosmic Jump and Danielle finally warmed up to Patti again.  When she was a tiny baby she adored Patti and would fall asleep in her arms, but the last few months she has wanted nothing to do with her.  So it was nice to see her give her another chance.
A nice calm moment when Danielle was actually laying down in the shopping cart instead of trying to jump out.
Modeling her cool shades.

More New Foods

This week brought even more new foods to try!    I always let Lily have McDonald's after swim class, so this week Lily shared her fries with Danielle.  Of course, she was a fan.  I'd be worried if she didn't like McDonald's fries!!  Of course, she won't get these very often.  I just want her to explore and try different textures and tastes.

On Friday we went to the mall to get Lily a much needed haircut!  After her appointment we got soft pretzels.  I let Dani try some and she loved them -- just like her Daddy, she loves pancakes and soft pretzels!

Love that face she makes with her lips.  It is a very Danielle face and she does it all the time.
This is how crazy rolls.

Wednesday (these are a little out of order), we had a playdate at Patti's house that ran late and into Danielle's dinner time.  Dani decided NOT to nap that day, so she was starting to fall apart without food or sleep.  So Patti, the nice Southern girl that she is, made Danielle some grits!!   They were cheesy grits and Dani liked them, but didn't the finish the entire bowl.

Yee Haw

I LOVE this picture I got of my little Texan while her and Lily were playing with the cowboy hat.

11 Months Old

I have NO idea how it happened, but Danielle is already 11 months old.  It is mind blowing.  She is amazing and still such a happy baby, most of the time.  She has had some issues with teething, I think, that have caused some fussy spells.   And if she doesn't get what she wants you know about it -- she has no problem screaming loudly if you take the toy or food she wanted.  But overall, her personality is pretty easy going.  She is, however, much more of a handful than Lily ever was.  She is curious and likes to get into everything.  I am constantly chasing after her.  She tries to climb out of her stroller and shopping carts and highchairs -- issues I never had to deal with before.  It is fun to see her own personality emerging.  She LOVES to laugh, dance, play peek-a boo and "this little piggy."  If she ever gets fussy it is easy to make her stop and laugh by just playing peek a boo or singing to her (usually a Katy Perry song will work since that is what she is most use to).  She is a joy and such a fun little girl and I just love to watch her learn, explore and grow.

For her 11 month pictures I got a black backdrop, but they didn't turn out very well and I don't have the time or energy to re-do them.  They work.  We'll get good pics next month anyway.  The black caused a greenish shadow on her face that I couldn't figure out how to edit out (still learning here).  But you can see how she is growing and how old she looks.

She was having fun with the pictures.

I am in love with her crazy mop top.  It totally fits her crazy personality.

Happy Birthday Justin

Last Sunday we went to Lily's school friend, Justin's, birthday party.  It was a bowling party and so much fun.  The kids got to bowl a game, got $10 to play in the arcade and had pizza and cake.  Plus, it was a nice mid summer reunion with all her preschool friends.

Hadley gave Lily her first ever piece of gum and just as I suspected, she didn't like it.  She couldn't get it to ball up and she just had one long string of yucky gum that she spit out within the first minute.  It went exactly as I had hoped and now it will probably be a long time before she asks for gum again!

Moooo

On Friday Patti asked if she could take Lily to Chick Fil A for "Dress like a Cow Day".  They have it everyear and Patti always goes dressed like a cow to get free food.  It was Danielle's nap time, so I stayed home, but Lily went and was a good sport.  They wore cow noses, ears and spots (that you can print at Chickfila.com for the occasion) and had a blast.

Emily and Lily

They even got to go behind the counter and get their own ice cream!!  That was a definite highlight!!
