36 Weeks

Here we are at 36 weeks. Less than 3 weeks left! I can't believe it. I am getting kinda excited to meet this baby that is constantly moving and kicking me. Seriously, she rarely holds still. But, at the same time she can stay in a little longer too -- not sure if I am ready for another baby to take care of. Especially one that is constantly moving!! :)
At our ultrasound this week, the sonographer calculated her weight and she is at about 7 pounds. Exactly the same as Lily was at 36 weeks. I doubt she will get to 9.6lbs like Lily did since Lily went 40+ weeks, but it will likely be anther big baby for me. It is mind blowing to think I already have a full size baby in there.

Almost Ready . . . .

So far bed rest hasn't been too hard and is going by super fast -- I guess I am just lazy like that. ;) But what has been very difficult is not being able to organize and get ready for the baby. I am nesting and can't nest. It is like torture. It is also hard to just keep giving Chip list after list of things to do. I feel terrible. He says he doesn't mind, and I know he doesn't, but it still sucks. He has one day off a week and I have him taking me to the Dr, going to the store, cleaning, laundry, getting in quality time with Lily and getting ready for the baby. There are literally not enough hours in a Monday. Finally two weeks ago Chip started getting the baby's room ready. Technically, the baby won't need her room for another 6+ months, but I needed to be able to have a place to hang her clothes, store her accessories and baby stuff and see what we still have left from Lily and still needed to buy. I couldn't get anything done with the room looking like this . . . .

I swear I am not really a hoarder!
The empty room was filled with old nursery furniture, Lily's future daybed, boxes of baby stuff, bags of baby clothes (which thankfully I sorted back in May), my wedding dress, Halloween and Easter decorations, exercise equipment . . . just a bunch of random crap that never really had a home.
Thankfully, Bryan was able to come over on Saturday and Sunday to help Chip clear out the room and start painting.

The room before was likely a nursery since it has three different colored pastel walls. It was okay, but not really my taste. Now we have a pink room!
On Monday, Chip got a new assistant to help finish up the job. She was SO happy and excited to help! It was SO cute . . . .

Of course 10-15 minutes later she came downstairs and said she desperately needed a "snack break." Lily is not one for manual labor.
Still finishing up on Tuesday night . . . it is hard when you can only paint a few hours after work.

My cute painters finally got the baby's room done. We got some furniture moved in and were able to hang up all the 0-6 month clothes -- thanks to my Mom who took them all home to wash them. We still have a ways to go and promised Lily we would paint her room too. But at least I can get into the room now and get to her clothes and necessities. I doubt we'll have to all together by the time she is born, but maybe by the time she is one . . . .

34 Week Ultrasound

Here are the ultrasound photos from last week. At about 34 weeks. They don't measure weight or any other statistics at the Biophysical profiles. Just her heartbeat, amount of amniotic fluid, keep track of movement, muscle tone, and breathing rate. So far we have been perfect every time. Only 4 more of these left and 24 days until delivery!!

Can you see her face? (I know you can't Mom) If you look closely, you should be able to see 2 eyes, a nose and mouth. It is clear as day to me.

Catching Up . . .

Sorry the blog has been lacking lately, but really there isn't too much going on . . . unless you want me to report on the activities of my TV shows. :) So far, at nearly 4 weeks into bed rest, things are going pretty good. I haven't gone crazy yet -- and neither has Lily! The days and weeks actually go by fairly quickly (knock on wood). The baby is still doing great and as of right now nothing has changed much. So that is good. I am currently 34+ weeks and have at most 32 days till delivery!!! That is just crazy.

I have missed out on some stuff -- I missed out on the biggest girls night of the year -- the New Kids on The Block and Backstreet Boys concert that I was supposed to attend with Rhiannon, Jenn, Patti, Courtney, and Jodi. But they were SO sweet to send me videos, pictures and texts from the show so it felt like I was there. I missed Patti's 40th birthday party at Splitzville, but Lily and Chip went and I got photos and texts from that too. I did NOT miss Patti's surprise 40th birthday party at the golf course which has been in the works since February! It was awesome and she was SO surprised. I didn't stay long and sat the whole time, but I am SO glad I was there. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of anything.

The biggest thing I am missing is Lily at swim lessons. She has excelled (without me there!) and is actually swimming and going down the slides into the pool!! That is HUGE and I am so proud of her. Patti took video of her on the slide so I could see. I am so lucky to have such great friends and family here that keep me in the loop from the comfort of my couch.

Lily has gotten out some. She got to go to the movies twice to see CARS 2 -- once with Chip and once with Grandma and she gets to play at Grandma's every Tuesday and usually sees her a few other times during the week. She had a playdate with her friend Christi and Patti and Bryan picked her up one night and took her out to dinner and to play in the fountains. So that has been great for her. Hopefully we can set up some more playdates for her in the next month. She is starting to get a little bored here with me.

Here are some random (and not that great) pictures I've gotten from my phone. I don't usually have my camera with me, but I always have my phone:

Me, in my NKOTB tshirt that Rhiannon got me at the concert and my big-ass donut that Patti had her sister in law stop and get for me on her drive up from San Antonio!! Like I said earlier, we really lucked out with the friends we have met here!

I'm not the only one chillaxing around here!

Lily and Mommy nap time. :)

Another Lily and Mommy nap time. This was on the 4th of July -- I had to get her down for a mini nap so she could stay up for fireworks!
I got a makeover while laying on the couch.

Summer fun!

Baby Shower!

Yesterday was my baby shower!! Rhiannon, Patti and Jenn threw me a lovely shower at Rhiannon's house. Everything was perfect and it was a great afternoon with good friends. We have been beyond lucky since we moved here to have met such wonderful people and my shower represented all of that -- there was a mix of old playgroup friends and preschool moms. It was a fantastic afternoon and another great excuse to get out of our house and go sit at Rhiannon's house!

Lily, baby and I all ready to go! I am at 33 weeks now.

Rhiannon made the centerpieces. They were beautiful. Everything was so nice and she had candles lit all over the house. She wanted me to have an elegant shower and she succeeded.
Patti did all the food since she is a fabulous cook! It was delicious!
My cute and yummy bundt cake!
The buffet table . . .

The invitation.

Lily and Abby
Lily helped me open all my wonderful presents.

She also made me a card herself. She is such an amazingly thoughtful girl. I love her SO much!!
My Aunt Karen was thoughtful enough to send a gift which included these great onesies she made! We love them!

Lily was very excited about the new princess hooded towels. . . . wonder who will use those more, Lily or the baby??
An amazing diaper cake from Paula. There is so much good stuff in there!

There were even presents for Lily!! I bought her a big sister book and a Precious Moments figure to commemorate her becoming a big sister. Rhianon and Patti each got her "Big Sister" t-shirts and Nichole got her a Rapunzel doll. It was so nice of them to think of her.

And, as soon as the desktop computer gets fixed (yes it broke AGAIN), I can scan the great games that Jenn organized to include to the post.

4th of July!

The 4th of July was especially exciting for me because I was getting out of the house!! Since we had decided to skip out on the big crowded and hot festival this year before my bedrest, we all stuck with the original plan and had a BBQ at Rhiannon and Ben's house and watched the fireworks from the field right by their house. It was perfect. I sat the whole time and hung out with my friends while the kids played outside in the water and the guys BBQed. I was a little apprehensive as to how I would feel since my blood pressure medicine makes me light headed if I sit for too long, but I felt GREAT! I think a little outing was just what I needed.

All ready to go . . . just not wanting to take a photo.
That's better!

Chip got pictures of them playing outside.

Watching the fireworks.

The gang was all there -- Matthew, Carys, Makayla and Emily!
It was a great night! I love the 4th since it is one of Lily's favorite nights of the year. It is beyond wonderful to watch her run around and have fun with her friends while watching the fireworks.
