Gymboree & Sprinkles!

This morning we had our second to the last Gymboree class. I can already tell that I am probably going to cry next week after our last class. It is not so much that I'll miss Gymboree, but it is the end of an era and my baby is going to start school!!

...........................
After Gymboree we went with Kathleen and Avery to meet Meridith, Taylor and Paisley at a park and sprayground (to play in the "sprinkles" which is what Lily calls the sprinklers). Lily was excited to spend more time with Avery (and Kathleen), I know she is going to miss seeing them every week at Gymboree!

A candid shot of the whole gang.
Lily is patiently waiting for the water to come back.

The water would come and go and they would get so bummed when it stoped and ask each other "where'd the water go??" then when it came back on, they'd scream so loud. They did this over and over - every time.

Snack time.

The park also had an awesome playground!

My Little Artist Is At It Again

For my birthday, back in April, Chip bought me personalized frame craft kit for Lily and I to do together. We finally brought it out last night and Lily had lots of fun painting me a pretty new frame! The kit actually came with 2 frames, but I think I'll save the other one to do in 6 months or so -- since I am sure her artistic style will change a lot in the future.

My beautiful new frame!!
I was smart and took the center plastic out. Somehow I knew she was going to paint the center too! :)

Some Brief Fun In The Sun!

Playgroup this morning was at the pool, but no one was going and I didn't feel like putting the effort in to going to the pool, especially without any of Lily's friends there (last time it was just me and her she was not happy about that). But I did want to work on my tan -- in June I had the best tan, but now that it is hot out and I've been indoors more, my tan is gone. Since the clouds and humidity were gone today (yeah!! It has been much more humid and wet this summer than last), I thought it would be fun to play in the back yard. It was only 80 degrees out this morning (although it is supposed to reach 100 later today) and we hadn't been outside in awhile. Lily was excited to go outside -- we both put our baiting suits on and got ready to go play! Of course after I set up the water table & sand table, got the cushions out for my bench and got her gooped up with sun screen, she decided she was ready to go inside! Argh! So I brought out a sprinkler toy I bought back in April, but haven't used yet since we haven't spent nearly as much time outdoors as I anticipated. It worked for another 10 minutes and then she was done. I managed to drag it out a little longer, but 40 minutes later we were back inside. Oh well, at least I tried.

Giving me a thumbs up!! It made me laugh since she has never done that before!

Two thumbs - way up!

Calli was watching us from my bedroom window.

Too cool for sand.

Helping me blow up the new toy. I wasn't thinking about the fact that it would need to be blown up. In the heat. I was so dizzy!

Catching water in her bucket.

Kicking the ball.

Once she got bored of this and I had taken the hose out, she wanted to play catch with the ball. So we threw and kicked back and forth a few times. Then Lily kicked it a little haywire and right into the rose bush where, of course, it got pierced by 2 thorns. Oops. That toy was fun while it lasted! :) Somewhere I have patches for the pool which should fix it . . . I just have to find them.

Fill The Bus

This morning Lily woke up at 6:45 am!! (yes, I had to include the "am" since it is not a time I am very familiar with) :) Thankfully we had plans this afternoon, so it wasn't that long of a morning. We went with the MOMS Club to "Fill The Bus". Every year the Community Outreach Program collects donations of school supplies for low income families. I remember MOMS Club helped out last year, but Lily and I didn't make it for some reason, but this year we decided to participate -- especially with all the sales on school supplies at Target and Wal-Mart. I got crayons for a quarter and spiral notebooks for 15 cents. The few dollars I spent helping out others were worth it just to let Lily play on the bus -- she LOVED that part!! Throughout the month of August the bus is parked in different locations around town for you to bring in supplies. Today it was in front of a furniture store, which happens to have an Italian restaurant inside (random, I know), so we planned on getting pizza after we played on the bus. Of course the restaurant is closed on Mondays, so we all walked down to a hamburger joint (with the best fries ever) for lunch. It was nice outing and Lily is still talking about driving the bus!

Paining at 8am.

Finally ready to go out -- she wanted to pose with Amanda.

I asked her to smile and I got this goofy face!

"Looking up".
She usually looks down when I try to take her picture, so I always ask her to look up and she looks all the way up!

Lily and the school bus

(Not sure the names of the 2 older kids -- they are new to the group) Ava, Delia, Lily and Joseph.
Clockwise from top -- Grace G., Delia, Grace A., Ava, Davey, & Lily!

She may not look happy, but she really was having fun. It was a good thing there were other kids there, so she had to take turns driving the bus -- otherwise we may still be there!

Not the greatest shot -- but this is Lily throwing a penny into the fountain (in the furniture store -- hence the daybeds in the back) and making a wish. It is significant since it the first time she's ever thrown a coin into a fountain!

Lily eating lunch at the kids table. Of course, she didn't last that long there and ended up sitting at a table with me and Tara and the "babies" Luke and Lucy.

Even More Randomness

Today I got brave and decided to try again to upload my pictures onto the laptop. To my surprise, I had no problem at all -- they all uploaded in like 5 seconds. It is so weird. Of course after all the attempts and foul language, I discovered that I didn't really have any good photos to share anyway! Figures.

Nothing exciting going on here this weekend. Lily and I went to my Mom's yesterday morning, as usual, and today we went to Target for groceries and cleaned the house some. woo-hoo.

Lily and friends in her "swimming pool."
It is actually the porch roof to her tent house, but she said it was her pool. We even got into a splash fight in that pool. Her imagination is incredible. The other day we spend nearly an hour searching for a giraffe in the house. She walked around with her hands cupped on her mouth yelling "Oh, Mr. Giraffe, where are you?" It was cute. We finally found him on top of the lighting fixture in the dining room.

Playing in the playroom. It is my favorite room in the house since she'll play on her own up here (well, more than she does downstairs -- I usually have to play with her downstairs). I get to read books and relax while she plays. It is nice.

This afternoon she had the most fun with a punch balloon and a baton.

Sorry they are so blurry, but she was moving fast!

Hopefully we'll do something fun this week, so I have something good to blog about! :)
