Danielle Doll

On Thursday night as Chip was outside grilling dinner, I thought I'd try to get some more 7 week pictures of Dani. On my way out I grabbed Lily's baby doll stroller!! I wish I would have thought of using it as a photo prop sooner!!

Lily and her real life doll!

She spotted a plane or bug or something in the sky . . .
. . . wondering, "what the heck is that?"
"Ok, I am getting bored with this".

Aunt Karen & Uncle Bob

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my Aunt Karen and Uncle Bob were in town this week. Uncle Bob spent most the time on business, while Aunt Karen was here playing with us. Lily loved her! It was a huge change from the last time she visited when Lily was 19 months old and Lily wanted nothing to do with her. Lily had so much fun this week playing restaurant and listening to random things inside a pumpkin. Aunt Karen was such a good sport and went along with all Lily's games, even the crazy ones! It was great to see them and introduce them to Danielle. Hopefully, it will be sooner, rather than later, when we all get together again.

After lunch on Thursday, before they headed home.

7 Weeks Old!

I tried to get some seven week photos of Dani on Wednesday after we went to watch Lily at dance class, but she wasn't too into it. Oh well, just another excuse to take more photos soon (as if I needed an excuse).

Fall at the Arboretum (Part 1)

Yesterday Lily, Danielle, my Mom, Aunt Karen and I all went to enjoy fall at the Arboretum. Aunt Karen is in town for a few days this week while my Uncle Bob is in Dallas for business. So we thought it would be nice to take the girls out for the fresh air and check out the Arboretum -- I love it this time of year! Lily was all excited to go and actually wanted to pose for pictures with the pumpkins! Too bad her hair was kind of a disaster. I doubt I'll get her to pose when we go back in a couple weeks with her friends.

The pumpkin houses all had a "Cinderella" theme this year.

They even had Cinderella's carriage there!

In addition to the pumpkin houses, they had the regular storybook houses that are always at the Arboretum. Above Lily is visiting the "Jack and the Beanstalk" house.

It was a fun day. Danielle did pretty good for her first big outing. She took a whole bottle at lunch and fell asleep soon after. It was a fun day and I know Lily is looking forward to going back! We always love this time of year and I am loving it even more this year since it is great to get back out and back to normal again with my 2 girls!

Mommy's Big Helper!

Lily has been wanting to give Danielle a bottle since, well, since before Dani was even born. So last night when I was giving her a little milk, just to keep her interested in taking a bottle, Lily asked if she could do it. So I let her. She was SO happy. It was such a sweet moment and both girls really enjoyed it. Plus, Lily did an excellent job! Better than Chip does. She was a natural! Now, all I need to do is get her to change poopy diapers. :)

She even knew to take the bottle in and out of her mouth so she wouldn't get too much. I didn't even instruct her at all and it is not like we use bottles around here a lot. I was so proud of my little mommy.

Taking a (quick) Walk

Friday evening the weather was perfect and I desperately needed to get out. We'd go out more, but honestly we don't have anywhere to go. . . . and it is a lot of work to go out just to go out. So we decided to take a walk. It ended up being a pretty short walk around the block since Danielle screamed the whole time. I don't think she liked laying down in the bassinet attachment for the stroller which totally bums me out since I was all excited to take walks with the pram.

Lily had to bring a full purse and a notepad for the walk.
I even tried introducing new pacifiers on the walk, but she just kept spitting them out . . .
. . . so I had Lily jump on the stroller board and try to keep the pacifier in her mouth as I walked. But Dani wasn't really having it. Oh well, we tried. Maybe next week she'll be more open to walks.
