Easter Pictures

Since our Easter was so uneventful with Lily being sick and Chip having to go to work after the morning egg hunt, I decided it would be fun to have a mini Easter photo shoot.  Mainly, I wanted to try to do something special since it was Danielle's first Easter and she didn't really get an Easter.  So I got Danielle dressed in what I had planned on dressing her in for Easter -- one of my favorite dresses that belonged to Lily (Lily wore it for her 3 month pictures) and I got some festive wrapping paper and we had ourselves a fun little session.

I took the time to edit a few of my favorite ones!

I LOVE that girl!

My two most favorite people in the whole world.

They are so sweet!
This picture just cracked me up -- the expressions on their faces.
Danielle trying to get her bunny ears!

Lily, being Lily, insisted on doing weird poses with the props. :)

(you can really tell the difference with the photos I took the time to edit, huh?)
She was "pretending to crack the egg".

"eating the eggs"

I LOVE my silly Lily SO much!
She is so beautiful.

Easter Morning

Sick Lily woke up bright and early and bouncing off the walls.  No fever was going to slow her down when she knew the Easter Bunny had been here!  She still has her fever, but thankfully that is all, so it does not appear to be a stomach bug (knock on wood).  She was all ready to go on an egg hunt in the house!
The Easter Bunny brought Lily an Olivia house, chocolate bunny, goldfish crackers, M&Ms, Reeces Pieces, a little Easter Barbie and a Minnie Mouse dressed as a bunny.  Danielle got the same Minnie Mouse bunny, teething rings, rubber duckies, a fisher price smartphone (phones have changed SO much since Lily had toy phones, so we had to upgrade for Dani) and a Fisher Price holder for my iphone -- that way Danielle can play with my phone apps without me having to worry about he dropping it or slobbering all over it!
Spotting eggs as she comes downstairs.
She wanted her shopping cart, not a basket, for more efficient egg hunting.
Checking out her loot.
Danielle and her basket.

On the hunt!  It was supposed to rain today and there aren't many good hiding places outside.  So I just prefer to do it in the house.  It is easier and less threat of bugs. :)

"More Money".
Instead of candy that will last till Halloween (like last year) or crappy little toys that I'll just end up throwing away, the Easter bunny put money in Lily's eggs so she could learn to count money and save up to buy something she wanted.  There were dollar bills, pennies, dimes, nickels, quarters and one $5 bill!  Lily was underwhelmed by the money and said that there was "too much money" and that next year it would be better if he brought less money.  Obviously I still have A LOT to teach this girl!!

Danielle liked playing with the eggs.
Her stash.
She had fun hunting eggs and I was glad that her fever didn't ruin her Easter morning.

Counting her money!
The Easter bunny put in about $10 more than he meant to. ;)  The final count was $28.64.  I think the bunny should have counted all those quarters out of the change cup instead of just filling up eggs at random.  :)

Easter Eggs

Earlier in the day on Saturday, Easter Eve, it was questionable if we would be dying eggs that night.  Lily's fever was not letting up.  In fact I had been following the Advil/Tylenol every 2-3 hour routine up until she fell asleep on the couch for an hour.  I hated to wake the poor thing.  But when she did wake up, about an hour past due on her dose of Tylenol, she was burning up at 105 degrees!  I felt so bad for letting it go and she was so miserable.  But as soon as the meds kicked in again, she was back to her normal self and bored with resting.  Although, even with all the fever reducing meds, I never got her temperature under 101.   But we decided since dying eggs was a calm activity, we'd follow tradition and dye our eggs after all.

We had 17 eggs to dye, so I bought two packs of color which was nice because there was less time wasted waiting for a specific color.
Dani was having fun in her bunny hat.

Ta Da!
Some had glitter, some has sequence and some I used a rubber band to get a striped effect!
I tried to get a picture of Danielle with our eggs, but she just wanted the sparkly turquoise one!

She got it!

Sick

Friday night at midnight, Chip came into my room with a very sick Lily.  She had a fever of 104 and was miserable.  I wanted to watch her during the night so I let her sleep with me.  Poor thing threw up at 4am (all over me) but I was glad I was there to help her.  Her fever has continued all day Saturday.  Looks like Easter will be spent in our pajamas this year.

Picnic at the Park

Friday was a beautiful 75 degree day, so I decided to surprise Lily by going to pick up In-n-Out and then stopping at the park to eat it.  She was surprised and VERY happy.  She loves to have picnics!

She did her own hair today. :)

Danielle enjoyed getting out and eating her applesauce al fresco!

Before we left the park, Lily had to show me how she can now climb up the "big girl" part of the playground equipment.  Chip taught her how last week when he brought her to the park.  Lily is still very timid when it comes to more adventurous stuff, which is fine by me!  But I know she gets sad and embarrassed when her friends can climb and do things that she can't or is too scared to do.  So, I was very happy for her and proud that she learned how to climb up here.

My big girl!!
