Halloween!

Just like every year we had our friends over for dinner and appetizers before we all went trick-or-treating together.  It is so fun and nice to all go as a group.  And of course the kids have a blast!

I forgot to get pictures of the food, but Patti made a cheeseball shaped like a pumpkin, candy corn cookies, Mummy cupcakes, and Halloween candy popcorn!!  And Rhiannon brought make your own pizzas for the kids.  So I made fruit cups in the colors of candy corn!  We were very festive.
Lily waiting rather impatiently for her friends!
Danielle was on cloud 9 since I took the baby gate down for the evening and she had free reign of the house -- notice the mess behind her? That didn't take her long to get into at all!

Matthew and Lily making pizzas.
Emily and Carys
Dani eating her pizza!
Dancing to "Halloween"music.

Silly girl dog pile -- they were so hyper and excited.
All the kids!
Emily, Madelynn, Carys, Lily, Matthew, Ben, Dani and Abby
And the moms (and Aunt Beth!).  Thanks to the Target dollar spot, I had masks for all!
The babies got to ride together in style.

I love watching the kids run from house to house.  This year was even better since we would run into new friends from school on the streets.  Lily even went to the house of a Kindergarten teacher and Mrs. Elizabeth, our crossing guard.  We've gone to their homes every year, but didn't know them before.

Time for a Pirate Booty snack, as Danielle was starting to get fussy in the wagon.  She wanted out!!  The plan was to let the babies out at the end.  We were afraid if we started them out trick or treating from the get go, they would never want to get back in the wagon.
Dani finally got out and got to do some trick or treating!!
Off she goes  . . . .
She didn't want to carry her Elmo treat pail.
She was TOO cute and is growing up WAY too fast.
Back at home after a very successful evening checking out the haul.
Matthew and Lily got super cool vampire teeth!
It was another fun, successful Halloween!

Pumpkin Carving

As is our usual tradition we carved pumpkins the night before Halloween.  We were a little rushed with Lily having dance that afternoon and having to squeeze in dinner before getting ready for bed.  But we carved one and had fun decorating 3 others.  (We did a Kitty pumpkin, but the paint had to try and we didn't finish it until the next day)  Chip isn't the biggest fan of pumpkin carving, so I am SO happy and excited that Lily has embraced it as she gets older and loves it.  Now I finally have someone to share in my holiday traditions with!

Ta Da!
Dani wanted in on the action.

Starting to carve.  Lily insisted on carving it all by herself and she did about 97% of the whole thing.  She came up with the design and everything.  I was so proud of her!!

She wasn't too fond of cleaning it out -- It smelled too bad for her.  So I did all of that.
Letting Dani check out the pumpkin guts.  I tried to get her to eat some, but she wasn't interested.

Her tongue is out in concentration.
Danielle got her own Elmo pumpkin!

I LOVE my weird, crazy perfect little family!

Halloween at Dance

Tuesday at dance they got to wear their Halloween costumes!

Stephanie, Dorothy and a Princess -- aka Lily, Carys and Hadley!

Oreo

Monday night we went out to dinner and the girls got Oreos for dessert.  It was getting late so we took them to go.  I didn't really plan on Danielle eating hers, but once she saw them and saw Lily eating hers she wanted a cookie!!  So I gave her half of one chocolate side to eat in the car . . .   this is how we found her when we got home.  She was messy and happy!

CHOCOLATE!!!!!

Mrs. Nesbit / Queen of the Week

Lily was "Queen of the Week" for her class this week which meant they spent the week celebrating her; she got to be line leader; she got to wear a crown all week and other special priviledges.  All the kids get a week to be queen/king. Part of the job was also making a poster with personal photos to share with the class and taking the class Buzz Lightyear home and writing about all the things you did with him over the weekend.  We forgot to take Buzz to the soccer game on Saturday, but we brought him to Bella's party and on Sunday he had a tea party with Lily and Danielle -- Buzz went dressed as Mrs.  Nesbit!  :)  It was fun.

Lily's poster!!
It was pink, sparkly, messy and covered in glitter and rhinestones -- it was Lily on a poster board!

Cold Saturday

It was a cold and busy Saturday last week.  We had to get bundled up for Lily's soccer game and Dani looked too cute in Lily's old jacket and hat!!

Then after we went to Bella's birthday party at the park.  It was a Halloween themed party.  Since Bella is on Lily's soccer team and in Lily' class all of Lily's friends were there and she was so excited to introduce her school friends to Carys and Emily.  It was so sweet.
