Summer Fun -- Week 4

I can't believe we area already into the 4th week of summer!  That is depressing.  It is going by too fast! It was another busy, fun week!

Monday morning we had Abby and Macy over for a playdate (while Cathy got her hair cut).  It was fun for all the kids.  Of course, it wasn't enough fun for Lily so right after they left she called Grandma for another playdate.  Dani and I watched "Frozen" while Lily was at Grandma's house.

Quality, fun time with my princesses.

On Tuesday we had a playdate with Lily's friend Harper at Jumpstreet.  This is what Dani choose to wear -- ballet shoes and Minnie ears.  How do you say no to that?!?

Harper, Brendan, Dani and Lily at Jumpstreet!  It was fun -- they played for over 3 hours!

Then we came home and watched the USA (sadly lose) in the World Cup.  Lily and I got really into it! It was a good game (for soccer)!

We grilled some of the leftovers from Saturday for dinner.  Dani and I wanted to eat outside.  It was a nice picnic with my baby.

Wednesday, Chip was home.  So once he woke up (about 2:15) we went to lunch at Glorias and sat out on the patio so the kids could go play in the Fountains.  It was perfect!!  Not crowded and a great afternoon.

Then we went for ice cream!  (Gelato, actually)

Thursday morning was family breakfast at Cracker Barrel!

And later in the day it was bonding with Dani time since Lily went to Emily's house for a sleepover!

Daddy got his hair done and a head massage.

Carys sleepover too and it was really good for Lily since she has been oddly nervous about sleepovers lately.  She had no issues and stayed the night!  Yay!

Since they woke up on the 4th of July -- which is Lily's half birthday, Patti got her half a ding dong with a candle and they all sang to her.  SO sweet!!

Sleeping Elsa

Thursday afternoon, we were all sitting around watching TV; I was working on my laptop, and we noticed that Dani was asleep!!  She just passed out watching youtube videos!!!  She slept just like that for over an hour.  I was certain it meant she was getting sick.  So I checked constantly for a fever (and outside for flying pigs), but she has been totally fine.  Just tired!

Hair Cut

Lily was in desperate need of a haircut.  I don't know what she does, but EVERY day her hair on the bottom underneath is matted in a HUGE mess of a nest.  It takes like 15 minutes (and lots of tears) to comb through.  It's gross.  So she was really hoping a hair cut will help solve the problem.

My beauty before.

I had just combed through it -- and you can see how it wants to tangle back up!
After!!

Still strange!  Just minus 2 inches of hair!!

Celebration USA

Just like we've done every year since we moved here, we went to the 4th of July celebration -- the week before.  It's always fun to get to celebrate twice!   We had some friends over to our neighborhood pool to swim, then came back to the house for a BBQ before heading to the park for the fireworks.   It was a perfect day and night!

This was the only picture I got during the afternoon festivities.

These two are just SO unbelievably cute together.

Playing Duck Duck Goose . . . I think.
Maddy, Carys and Lily won free sunglasses.

Wagon rides are always a big hit.

The gang -- that made it past 8:30!
Dani, Lily, Madelynn, Matthew, Ben, Carys, Emily, Courtney and Abby

Dani LOVED the fireworks!  She was SO excited and would scream and yell out the colors.  It was so cute and she was so fun to watch.

The big kids loved them too -- but weren't too happy with me trying to take a picture. :)

Lily was TIRED at the end of the day!!  It's been a busy busy summer!

Big Trouble in a Tiny Girl

So while Lily was at camp one day, Dani grabbed the princess pool toys out of the pool bag and said she wanted to take them swimming.  I was like go ahead.  I mean I figured she'd splash up the bathroom a little, but she'd have fun and be occupied so it was all good.  I was sitting on the couch and had a clear view of her the whole time.  I watched her get the stool and turn on the water.  I helped her take off the dress she was wearing when it became soaked. I watched her go back and play some more. . . . then minutes later, I heard it.  The sound of a waterfall.  I realized that all this time, she had the water going and the drain plugged!!  There was literally a waterfall flowing over the sink and flooding the bathroom.  Apparently, I overestimated her common sense to not leave the water on with the sink plugged!!  Oops.

Hair and Make Up

This little one is growing up too fast!  She insists on doing everything herself and says, "No, mama!  I got it!  I got it!"

Here she is attempting to do her self proclaimed "crazy hair". . . .
. . .brushing it . . .
. . . and spraying it with water.
Then she snuck up to Lily's room to do her make-up,  She smeared some purple eyeshadow all over her face.  My sweet baby!
