Sunny Day/Icy Day

Last weekend was a crazy weekend.  Saturday was a perfect 80 degrees.  We had Lily's first soccer game (which I forgot to bring my camera to), went out to lunch al fresco with Rhiannon, Ben, Matthew, Carys, Abby, Julie, Stu, Sophie, Katie and baby Roo and then we went back to Rhiannon's and Ben's and the kids played outside until it was time to go home for dinner and bed.  It was awesome and a perfect sunny day.  Abby and I even got sunburnt.  THEN on Sunday, it was literally freezing with wind chills in the single digits and tons of thunder sleet!!  In fact, it sleeted so much that school was closed on Monday!! But Sunday was just as awesome with snuggle time, movies and pizza!  Two totally perfect, yet completely different days!!  It was kind of fun to have summer and winter in the same weekend!!!

Enjoying pizza and Willy Wonka while cuddled up on the couch with Mommy and Daddy.

Chip had to work on Monday, but Lily and the day off and we were iced in.  So I bought out this Sophia Sugar Cookie castle I bought at Christmas time.  I mean, it made perfect sense to me to load them up on icing and gumdrops when we were stuck indoors!

In true Dani fashion, she just wanted to eat it.  "Get in my mouth!"

 Ta Da!

The best part was that we ate it!!  Since it wasn't a Christmas decoration and it was made of sugar cookie (not gingerbread) we just tore into it as soon as it was built!

Yum and fun!

Playgroup!

I finally got Dani to the neighborhood playgroup.  They meet on Friday mornings at the park.  I figured it was past time for her to meet some friends in the neighborhood and for me to meet some of the other moms of younger kids. We've gone two weeks in a row now and Dani loves playing at the park with the kids.  It is cute and I plan to make it a regular thing. . . .  of course Friday after school is also the regular play date day for the neighborhood.  We ALL meet at the park.  It is awesome -- all Lily's friends are there and it is like a huge playgroup/party.  I love our neighborhood!!  AND after that we have soccer practice.  So the last two Fridays have been filled with fun and fresh air!  It's kind of exhausting.

She likes to make me play too!

Just Watching The Clock Tick By

We've been watching A LOT of the movie "Frozen" and if we're not watching it, we're listening to the soundtrack or acting it out.  The girls are slightly obsessed.  Lily loves Elsa and Dani loves Anna, which make it SO easy to play!!  Dani's favorite song is "Do You Want to Build A Snowman" and there is a lyric "Just watching the clock tick by.  tick, tock, tick, tock" and she lays in front of a Grandfather Clock.  Dani likes to act this out at home.  She is too stinking cute!!

Family Time

It's been a nice change to have Chip around more.  Now that he is done with school (and on a break from Texas Tech), we actually get to see him when he is home -- he's not upstairs studying.  It's awesome.  We've had lots of play time and movie time.

Watching "Monsters University" in bed with Daddy.
Playing the Disneyland game on xbox kinect -- it's really cool, like you are actually at Disneyland!

Of course when he is at work, he is gone from 6am -9 ish pm. (or vice versa once he starts nights shifts) and that leaves me with these crazy babies!!

Connemara

Pretty much right around the corner (and essentially part of my parent's neighborhood) is a nature preserve/meadow.  Lily has gone many times with her school to observe the changes in season, but I have never been.  They have open houses like once a month for anyone to go, but we've never made it.  Finally yesterday, since the weather was nice and I was still feeling a bit of the cabin fever from being home with sick Dani, I decided to take the girls to get some fresh air and check it out.  It is pretty -- I imagine it would be gorgeous in the Spring and Fall.  There are some nice walking trails -- half mile to a mile+.  It's a nice place to walk, relax and feel like you are in nature.

Sunday Morning

Just playing Barbies and watching a Muppet movie!!  I love these two!!!
