Tyler's Birthday

Friday morning we went to Tyler's 3rd birthday party at the pool. It is crazy to think that we have been to Tyler's first, second and now third birthday. We went to his 1st party after we had been in playgroup for about a month. It is so fun watching all the kids grow up and grow up together.
Cake time, poolside.
I love this picture of Emily, who obviously enjoyed her cake. :)

Cousins

Thursday night Aunt Linda let Lily feed Jeremy his dinner and Lily actually fed Jeremy a whole container of prunes all by herself. It was SO cute and she did a really good job too. Hardly any mess, which is hard even for me to do, especially with prunes that are kinda runny.

Okay, well Jeremy got a little messy, but she didn't spill any prunes on the tray or floor! :)

After dinner Lily and Jeremy were too cute playing together on the floor. Jeremy was tickling Lily and they were both having tons of fun. It really was the cutest thing ever to watch them play and interact together like that.

'I'm gonna get you!'

A Lazy Wii Morning

Lately in the evenings when Chip is home, Lily wants to play his Tiger Woods golf video game with him. It is cute and she isn't half bad!! However, when she wanted to play on Thursday morning while he was at work I had to say no since I didn't want to risk messing up his settings or whatever the heck he has going on there. So, instead she settled for some Mario Kart. Nearly 30 minutes of Mario Kart! It kept her entertained and she is honing her video game skills to challenge daddy one day. :)

Yes, she is in last place and driving off the road. But she is trying and way into it! :)
An exclusive Lily move -- holding the wheel to the side of her head.

Look at that concentration.
After she tired of Mario Kart, she requested some Wii fit games. It was the perfect way to spend a lazy summer morning when it was just too hot to do anything else.

Hannah's Birthday

Wednesday morning we went to Hannah's third birthday party. It was kinda bittersweet. Last month Lori, Matt and Hannah moved about 40 minutes away to a suburb of Fort Worth since Matt got a job promotion and had to change offices. I've been sad about it since we first found out they were even thinking of moving, but hadn't had a chance to realize how much we missed them until I saw Lily and Hannah playing. They were stuck together like glue and I actually felt sorry for Emily, Trent, Elise, Travis and Alyson since they might as well have not even made the drive out -- it was all about Lily and Hannah! I thought it was pretty cute. They wouldn't stop for a second to pose for a photo, but I tried to grab some quick shots as they were running around like crazy monsters and princesses chasing each other.

Hopefully, we can find time again soon to go and visit!

On The Move

Tuesday night we went back over to my parent's house to hang out with Jeremy and Linda (and Grandma, of course).

Lily trying to read Jeremy a story . . .
. . . but Jeremy just wanted to crawl on outta there.

He literally just started crawling while he was visiting this week. So it was fun watching him start out slowly and then really kinda start to understand exactly what this new talent allowed him to do and what he could get into to!
(I like Lily's face in the above photo. She is really getting into her story.)
Headed to my camera on the floor -- the perfect lure and a great way to take a crawling shot!

My Little Ballerina

This morning was Lily's first pre-Ballet class!!! We were both pretty excited! She, and all the little girls, looked so cute. Even Aunt Linda came down to watch her.

There were six girls total in the class with Ms Crystal. We signed up with Carys, but were pleasantly surprised to find out that Samantha from our old neighborhood playgroup was also in the class!
(sorry about the glare, I had to take pictures thru the window looking into the class).

Tiny Dancers

Lily and Carys

They suddenly got distracted by all the Moms in the window and had to come say hi. :)

At the end of class they turned out the lights and danced with ribbons to "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. Of course, Lily was in heaven. But it was hard to get good photos with the lights out. I think my sister got some video, so I'll have to post that later. The class was awesome and Lily had a huge smile on her face the whole time! She loved it.

Jeremy and Aunt Linda are Back!

Linda and Jeremy came back for a week to enjoy the Texas summer heat! :) They got here Saturday and we have been having fun hanging out, watching Jeremy learn to crawl and watching Lily dance around and sing like the crazy ham that she is.

Dancing to princess music with Aunt Linda.
After dinner on Sunday night, we let Lily play in the fountains for a bit before going home . . .

That is her out there. It is blurry, but you get the idea.

Yesterday Lily and I met Matthew and Carys at their pool for a playdate and then we met up with Chip, Linda, Grandma and Jeremy for lunch. Lily is a great helper and such a little mommy.

Shoes for Every Activity

Sorry no posts this week. It has been a busy, but unexciting week. We've been getting ready for fall while trying to stay cool. It has been really hot this last week, so anything outdoors is not going to happen. It is even almost too hot for the pool!

But we have gone shopping. Shoe shopping to be exact. Lily got her very first pair of ballet shoes (and a few super cute leotards and tights) since she starts dance on Tuesday!!! I've been talking about getting her signed up for awhile now, but I was thinking of waiting until after school got going. However, I found out that most of the classes at the local studios are starting this week and nearly all of them are already full! So if I was to wait, she'd have to get put on a waiting list and that sucks. Rhiannon called around and got Lily and Carys the last two spots in a pre-ballet class at a local studio that came highly recommended. So we are excited and it is even better that Lily gets to dance with Carys!

Lily also got her very first pair of soccer cleats and shin guards this week! Yes, we are doing soccer too!!! That was part of the reason I wanted to put dance off until late fall. My friend, Heather, is coaching the team and wanted all the girls in our playgroup, who are eligible by age, to play on the all girl's 3 year old team. So it is Lily, Ashley, Emily and Christie (who was in her class last year at school) and 4 other girls that we haven't met yet. It should be VERY interesting to see how well these 3 year olds play and how much of the game they grasp!! The season is only September - November. Seven games, I think. So our fall schedule looks like this: School for Lily on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Dance on Tuesday. Playgroup on Thursday. Soccer practice on Thursday nights. Soccer games on Saturday morning. Not to mention my spin classes on Monday and Wednesday and Chip will be in school Tuesday and Thursday nights. I am exhausted just thinking about it all!!

To keep with the shoe shopping theme of the week, we also shopped around for new school shoes for Lily. I haven't really started fall clothes shopping since it will be warm for a couple more months, but she does need new closed-toe shoes for school. Miraculously she wore the same sneakers and shoes all last year and through summer school. I can not believe that her feet didn't grow at all in a year!! But they are starting to get a little snug, not to mention raggedy, so we got new shoes, one size bigger - 9 - and a new backpack, she picked a pink Hello Kitty one over the Disney Princess (I haven't taken the tags off yet, since I am waiting for her to change her mind) and we are all ready for school!!

Since this blog acts as my journal, I have to also document that Saturday night we all went to Donna, Cole and Todd's house with Patti, Bryan and Emily for a BBQ. It was fun as always and nice to hang out with friends while the kids played. Tuesday night I went out for dinner with Patti, Courtney and Heather. And today we had a playgroup at Heather's house and then went out to lunch with Courtney, Trent and Elise! So it hasn't been only shoe shopping! :)

Here are a few, not so great, photos of Lily in her ballerina gear. I think she would wear it all day, everyday, if I let her!

She looks adorable it her outfits. I don't think these random photos do her justice.
Hopefully I'll get better ones on Tuesday.
And a crazy picture from our shopping adventures on Wednesday. We did buy a new sweater at the Children's Place because she loved it and I knew she would need it eventually. It was hard to even imagine buying a sweater since it was 103 degrees outside! But Lily, took it one step further and had to wear the sweater as we walked back to the car. I was miserable just looking at her, but she insisted she wasn't hot.

At least it matched her outfit perfectly! :)

Summer Fountain Fun

Thursday we met Matthew, Carys, Makayla and Blake or Lily's "school friends", as she calls them, for lunch and play in the fountains. As always, fun was had by all. Especially us Mom's who got to relax and chat while they kids wore themselves out playing. I don't know what is going to happen if these kids don't all get placed in the same class this year. We all requested it, but we are nervous since there is more than one 3 year old class. We'll find out at the end of the month!
