It is so hard to believe that yesterday was the last day of school! It is officially Summer Vacation! (although, Lily will be back at school after one week of for a month of Summer School -- she loves school too much to take 2 whole months off). It was a bittersweet morning. It seems like just yesterday that I was debating putting Lily in the 2's program and now she is off to Pre-K! Only one year of preschool left. :( It was also sad since after two years with Ms Andrea and Ms. Melinda, Lily will have new teachers next year. All the teachers are great, so I am not worried, but it was sad saying goodbye to Andrea and Melinda.
After school we had a class social with the other 3's class. We all went to lunch and then the kids played in the fountains. It was the perfect last day of school activity and it was great because we got to know some of the kids that will be in Lily's class next year. I was so proud of all the kids, it is amazing how much they have grown up in the last year or so -- all 10 or so of them, sat at one end of a long table very nicely and ate their lunch. No real drama, no fights and they all ate. It was a great lunch. :)
Last day of school photo. Get use to seeing those shoes. Lily FINALLY got her Sketcher Twinkle Toe sneakers that she has wanted for the longest time. I don't think she has taken them off since we bought them last weekend.

Letter People Parade
All year long at school, Lily's class has been introduced to a new letter friend each week. It is a great curriculum and a great way to get to know the alphabet and start understanding spelling and reading. Since it is the last week of school (!!!) they had a letter person parade today and each kid got to dress up as their favorite letter friend. Most kids choose the letter that corresponded with their initials, but for some reason Lily was adamant about wanting to be Miss W, which was fine by me since it was a pretty easy costume to make. I'm thinking it is because she knows she is a Wacky, Wonderful wittle Weird-o! :)
I could only find a long sleeve orange shirt with a design on the front, so I just in-sided it out and cut the sleeves and collar to look like "W's". Lily helped color and glitter glue the big "W" (we added glitter to make it extra fancy) and she helped me come up with "W" words to decorate her outfit. We were both pretty proud of the final outcome.

Swimming Lessons
Last night was our 10th lesson and the last one of the Spring season. But we signed up the kids for 12 more lessons this summer. Lily definitely needs more lessons. She has come a long way, but is still stiff and unsure of herself in the water. It is not necessarily a bad thing -- she has a healthy fear of drowning, which I am perfectly okay with. :)She is much braver when it comes to putting her face in the water and getting dunked. It is slow going, but progress has definitely been made. I am curious to see how well she'll swim at the end of the summer!

Sping Party
Saturday evening was our neighborhood Spring Party. It really is the party of the year. I was so sad to miss it last year since we were in California, but I had to go this year -- even though it was kinda hot and humid for this pregnant lady. They had 3 bounce houses, a inflatable joust ring, a clown, a band, bubbles, chalk, face painting, balloon animals, train rides, popcorn, sno cones, Sonic burgers and hot dogs, Arby's sandwhiches, Pizza, Chick Fil-A nuggets, chips, cookies, kegs of premium beer, wine, soda, water, etc. . . . They really do a great job for a neighborhood shin dig!! As soon as we got there, Lily tracked down Elise and they stuck together the whole time. The first thing they wanted to do was the train ride. Apparently it was too roller-coaster like for pregnant people, so Courtney rode with the girls. :)

I Love my Little Weird-O!
On Saturday afternoon, Lily and I went shopping for new bedroom bedding and accessories for her -- since she will soon move on from the crib and nursery stuff (I'll give that to the baby) and get a big girl room. I figured she would enjoy a new room much more than the baby -- so we'll spend the money on getting her new stuff now, and just reuse all her baby stuff for the new nursery. Since I can't go more than a few hours without food, we stopped for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory at the mall. Lily wanted to take a picture to send to daddy at work and this is what I got:

McDonald's
Thursday afternoon we had lunch at McDonald's with Lily's teachers Ms. Andrea and Ms. Melinda and Matthew, Carys and Makayla (and Madison and Matthew). We did this last year after bidding on the lunch at the preschool auction and the kids loved it so much, we had to do it again this year. It is so fun for the kids to hang out with their favorite teachers outside of school. And probably just as much, it not more fun, for Lily to eat at McDonald's and play in the playland. It is not something we normally do. In fact, the last time we ate in and played was probably the teacher lunch last year!
