San Antonio

It has been forever since we've taken a family vacation. In fact, I don't think the three of us have ever taken a vacation that did not involve family or visiting family. So we were way overdue!! But with Chip's work schedule, we had to keep it short and thus, close to home. So we decided to head down to San Antonio since we had never been there and there was stuff to keep all three of us entertained.

We left Sunday afternoon, after Chip got off work. It is a five hour drive down and thankfully Lily took a short nap on the way.
This is a view of the Alamo grounds from our hotel room! The main "shrine" that we all recognize in photos is the horizontal building in the back.

Views from our room. We stayed at the Emily Morgan hotel, which is supposedly haunted! It was a nice hotel and had a great location -- right across the street from the Alamo and only a very short walk to Riverwalk.

That is our hotel. Chip is in the foreground pushing Lily in the stroller, but unfortunately Lily got cut out of the picture to include the whole building.

We walked down to Riverwalk for a quick dinner. We were all tired, especially Chip who had been up since 4:30 and had already worked an 8 hour day!

We got a table right on the river.

We ate at the County Line BBQ restaurant.

The Alamo at night as we walked back to the hotel (and a creepy ghostly image of Chip).

Lily in her bed!

Lily was on a crazy high and would not calm down to go to bed! She was SOO excited. She was literally doing jumping jacks and running around the room at super speed. We were planning on going to Sea World in the morning, but it was clear she was going to be tired the next day so we altered our plans some and tried to get some sleep!

You should send in that photo of Chip walking by the Alamo at night to a ghost hunters show. You could get big bucks!
