I'm not quite sure what I was thinking when I thought it would be fun to go to Sea World, San Antonio in August. It was hot. It wasn't as hot as it could be, I suppose, since I think it only got to the mid 90s, but it was hot enough!! But it was still a fun day -- they had the usual shows, exhibits, plus rides (most roller coasters that Lily was too small for) and a water park which made for a nice break in the hot day!

At the entrance

Sharks -- Lily just really wanted to see sharks.

The penguins were awesome. Lily and I really liked the penguins.

Warm, tired and kinda fussy while in line for her first ever log ride! It was one ride she could ride, so we decided to try. I was getting a little nervous in line since there wasn't just one, but may drops on the "Texas Splashdown" and if she didn't like the first one there was no getting off! But we watched all the logs go down the 75 foot drop and she was cool with it and knew what to expect and she LOVED it!! She said the ride "hurt her tummy" which we figured meant she lost her stomach, but she said it was fun and she didn't seemed traumatized at all!! I didn't get any photos on the ride and they don't let you take pictures of their pictures, so you just have to imagine how cute she was.

Our first show of the day, "Believe" featuring Shamu(s).

There was a baby Shamu that followed his mommy around the whole show. It was so cute.

At this point in the day we spent a few hours at The Lost Lagoon water park. We brought our swimsuits and locked the camera and bag in a locker. So I don't have photos of us floating around the lazy river, or playing in the splash ground or sitting in the kiddie pool. We also watched a show featuring costumed Shamu and friends which was beyond cheesy, but Lily insisted we watch. There were water slides, but Lily said she was too scared and she wasn't really into all the big sprinkler toys either. But it was a great way to cool off and take a break in the middle of the day.

Chocolate face!

Funnel cake sundae!

Waiting for the "Azul" show that featured dolphins, Beluga whales, synchronized swimmers, divers, birds, etc . . . it was a great show.

I love watching Lily watch the shows! Her reactions are priceless.

Lily and her purple penguin she got after the penguin habitat.

Looking at sea lions.

We bought a tray of fish and fed the sea lions. Lily actually held a fish and dropped it in! I was so proud of her, I wouldn't even touch the tray. yuck.

I asked her to smile and she gave me this sour face. She is a stinker.

Visiting the dolphins. Lily wanted to feed them too, but feeding time was over for the day. They did swim pretty close though!

See how close?
We ended up leaving the park at 6pm after being there since 10am. We had done everything except for a few shows that didn't even start until around 8pm and we were too hot and tired to wait around for the Sea Lion caper show. The master plan was to go back to the room, shower and order room service and just chill since we were SO tired. But the room service menu didn't really excite us and Lily who didn't even fall asleep in the 20 minute car ride back to the hotel was still running around like a crazy person! So we decided to walk over to the Rainforest Cafe on Riverwalk since Lily had been asking to eat there for the last couple days. Last time we went with her friends she wasn't scared, but her friend Trent was, so Lily kept saying that when we went back she'd help Trent to not be scared. But for some reason the first time the elephant near us started "talking" and the thunderstorm came she freaked out . . .

look at her gripping that fork and cuddling into daddy!

Sipping apple juice in a light up cup.

Freaked out again! Silly girl.

San Antonio at night, as seen from our hotel room.

It was another fun and exhausting day! We really like San Antonio. For some reason it reminds me a lot of Los Angeles, not so much the downtown LA area, but just the general LA area. And I wish we had a Riverwalk area here in Dallas, it is so cool!
