Cousins

Aunt Linda and Jeremy are back in town for the week. They got in late Friday night and Lily has been playing non-stop since they got here. She LOVES when Aunt Linda and Jeremy are here! Since I am still stuck on the couch, we have just been hanging out at our house in the morning/ afternoons. Then back to Grandma's for Jeremy's nap and dinner. It's been a good routine and I got home cooked meals from Mom three nights in a row! (actually, 2 nights in a row -- Dad cooked on Monday night).

Dancing
Playing on the ipad
Lily loves to get in his face and try to kiss and hug him. It is sweet, but I doubt Jeremy appreciates it.
He loves cars -- even if they are pink Barbie convertibles.
Playing with the Polly Pocket boat.
In the evening they went "swimming" at Grandma's. Lily was actually trying to show off her swimming skills in the little pool.

They are cutest when they play chase and run around laughing and chasing each other. It is so sweet.

Lily loves her cousin. And I think he is pretty fond of her too -- Linda told me that when Lily wasn't at my Mom's he was pointing at her picture and saying "Lily" and then pointing at the door as if he wanted her to come in or to go to her. Such a sweetheart!

Making Tiaras

Lily got a 'sticker by number' tiara making kit back for her birthday. There are 6 crowns and she had made one awhile back, but we brought it out again this week to entertain ourselves on the couch. We had fun making them -- two days in a row. It was a fun and easy activity to do together.

I made this tiara for my princess.

I LOVE my silly girl!

Old Friends

On Thursday our friends Meridith, Taylor & Paisley and Kathleen and Avery (and baby Cade) came over to bring lunch, presents and play. It was so good to hang out and catch up. Our schedules never mesh well, so we don't get to hang out as much as we'd like anymore. Usually when we do get together, Lily is always a little shy and unsure since these friends are not part of the regular rotation. But having them at our house made a huge difference and they all played SO well! It was so sweet! Hopefully, they will be able to come over again soon.

Lily's 4 year Handprint

The last two years I have really fallen behind on doing Lily's yearly hand-print! But since I didn't get around to it till the end of July last year, we're good since she is still 4 and we'll have a perfect idea of how she has grown in a year!

BBP/NST

Also on Tuesday was my last Biophysical Profile sonogram (BBP) and non-stress test (NST). I have to admit, it was kind of bittersweet. I mean it is GREAT that I actually made it to all 8 appointments and didn't have t0 deliver early, but I will miss going in and seeing my nurse friends. That office has been my second home this summer.

Swim Lessons

On Tuesday, I ignored my doctor's orders to go watch Lily at swim lessons. I missed the entire summer session and I have heard how good she is doing, so I wanted to make sure to see her one time before she was done for the year! She has made huge progress since she started in the Spring. I think she would be even better if she would have gotten more time to practice in the pool this summer, but unfortunately that didn't happen. She is going to take a break this fall from swimming, but we'll start up again next Spring. By next summer we should all be ready for the pool!

Swimming!

She may not be an Olympic swimmer yet, but these 22 weeks in the pool have really helped her confidence and understanding of swimming. Special thanks to Grandma for taking her the last couple months!!

Daddy Duty!

I have a picture of Chip assembling this activity center for Lily back in 2006, now today he is cleaning it up -- along with other toys to get ready for the new baby. We still have a lot of little random things to accomplish, so he came home early today to get some stuff done. We are nowhere near being 100% ready, but every little bit helps.

What's Wrong With This Picture??

It is 100+ degrees outside and has been for over a month straight. We are well on our way to breaking all kinds of heat records here in North Texas. We normally have hot summers, but nothing like this. Everyone is freaking out . . .. and Lily is at home wearing a sweatshirt. :) Lily obviously, is not feeling my pregnancy hormones.

Foudue Night!

Lily wasn't the only one who got some much needed playtime this week. On Friday night Patti hosted a fondue night for us, Rhiannon and Ben and Jenn and Pete. It was perfect for me since the whole evening was spent sitting around the table just eating and taking -- not to strenuous at all! She had a cheese course, meat and veggie course and desserts, of course. It was delicious and great to catch up, but I am glad I got to take a nap Friday afternoon. We were there till nearly 1am!! It was a great way to spend my first and last night out for some time.

Much Needed Play Time!

Lily has been amazing these last 7 weeks on bedrest (It has officially been 7 weeks today). She went from school and playdates almost daily to just hanging out with me most of the time, and I haven't been much fun at all. I know it is getting to her. She acts out some by telling tall tales, cutting the curtains in the office (I could have killed her for that one) and has her moments where she just breaks down and cries things like "I just want my life back". But, overall, and all things considered she has been an angel and such a trooper.

This last week or so she had a great week. She had her usual playdates with Grandma, which she loves and always looks forward to plus grandpa took her to get a haircut and dance shoes. She even got to sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa's this past Friday night! Last Thursday, Jenn picked her up and brought her back to their house so she could play with Makaya -- all day. On Friday, Matthew, Carys, Abby, and Rhiannon came over for lunch and play. Sunday she went to Emily's hosue to play. And this Friday, Rhiannon brough her over to her MOm's house so her and Carys could go swimming and play, again all day long. I think she really needed this time with her friends. I was a little lonely at home, but it was good for her to get out and see all her buddies. We are both so lucky to have such a support team of family and friends to keep us entertained and taken care of.

DJ Lily

One of Lily's favorite new pastimes is playing music from the ipad or my phone for the baby. I enjoy it too -- it is so fun to watch my stomach bounce as the baby dances (or tries to run away from all the Katy Perry songs). :)

Supermodel

Lily loves her make-up and she loves putting it on and getting all fancy. The only problem is that 99% of the make up she has is just different forms of lip-gloss. But that doesn't stop her from using the sticky gooey gloss as lipstick, blush, eyeshadow and powder. It is a gross greasy mess. I even bought her sparkly white eyeshadow to play with, but since it is white and not as colorful (the reason I bought it), she doesn't like it as much and continues to goop herself up. The pictures don't really do it justice -- but you can kind of see the shininess on her face that is covered in clear lip gloss.

37 Weeks!

These pictures are from Tuesday, August 2nd. I officially made it to full term!! Yippee!! That takes so much pressure off me to make sure to keep my blood pressure down and keep this baby safe. Of course, I am still laying low on bedrest and not pushing it. Blood pressure normally rises the last few weeks anyway and I'd like to keep her snug until she is ready to come out on her own, or until August 17 -- which ever comes first. So far so good, I though maybe they would want to intervene and try to deliver this week since I am officially term, but nope. Things look good, so we gained at least another week!

Lily is such a silly little girl. NO one wants this baby out more than Lily. She both really really wants the baby, but even more than that she really really wants her mommy back and moving around. Poor thing doesn't realize that won't completely happen for awhile after the baby comes.

She makes me laugh.

Silly Lily

During one of my infamous impromptu naps that usual occur out of boredom when it is Lily's turn to control the TV, all the Barbies and princesses had an "Imagination Movers" viewing party. Apparently they all have a thing for the Mover.

I was just trying to get a picture of the Barbies watching TV, but silly Lily kept jumping into the shot.

This Pretty Much Sums Up Our Summer . . .

Although I am NOT complaining. There is a record breaking heat wave going on out there. Lily and I are pretty lucky to have a good excuse to stay home and relax in the nice air conditioned house.
