I'm feeling a little better today. Still slightly congested and tired, but a definite improvement. I think I have passed on my cold to Chip, who has also been a bit under the weather the past few days. But thankfully (knock on wood) Lily seems to have gotten by with only a runny nose. In fact her nose has been running for over a week now -- she was the first to show symptoms, but beyond that she seems totally fine. We've skipped play dates all week and have just been laying low and hanging out at home. I feel bad because last Friday I had plans to go hang out with my new friend from Gymboree, Kathleen, and her daughter Avery. I didn't sleep well Thursday night at all, so when I woke up on Friday feeling funky I figured it was due to lack of sleep. So we went to her house and played. It wasn't until later on Friday that I realized I was totally sick!! I sure hope they don't get sick too, I'd feel terrible!
Saturday Chip went into work in the morning, but came home early in the afternoon to help watch Lily so I could sleep. They had a big tournament going on, which luckily got off and finished before the rain from Ike came in. Lucky for us, Ike hit more to the east so we didn't get much action at all. Just some steady rain most of Saturday and slight winds. It was not a big deal at all and was completely gone by Sunday. But thanks to all of you who called to check in on us (and there were a lot of you!!). But Saturday morning while Chip was at work and I was feeling miserable, I was trying to find something to keep Lily entertained so I could rest. I did not want to watch the same damn episodes of Sesame Street that I have already seen 100 times. So I put in one of my all time favorite movies, Aladdin, got Lily some goldfish crackers and we cuddled up on the couch and watched a movie. It was the first time we have ever done that and it was really nice. Since it was a new movie for her, it held her attention. I never realized it before, but some parts can be kinda scary -- but she didn't seem to notice. We didn't make it through he entire movie, but it was a good 45 minute rest period for me!!
Sunday I had to get up early and get ready for the Bridal Expo that I had been planning for for the last month. It couldn't have come at a worse time, but I took some DayQuill and powered through it. It was only a 5 hour show (thank god!) from noon-5pm. We got there around 10am to set up. It was me, the banquet manager from the course and one of the waitresses from the bar. I think it was a big success. It was crowded and we got a lot of interest. Now we wait and see how many people come in and book the banquet room! Here is a picture of our booth -- I blocked out the name of the golf course:
I think it turned out really well. I enlarged the photos and got the easels for the background. The big pictures got a lot of attention. I also decorated the table with a few centerpieces, rose petals and some framed pictures of the course as well as the folders with all our info. Sergio, the banquet manager, took care of the linens and chair covers. It was simple, but nice and we got a lot of people to stop by our booth, so that is what matters!
Chip stayed home with Lily all day and they got some much needed bonding time! I think it was a lot of fun for both of them. It is always different when I am here because she gravitates towards me, but at least for one afternoon Daddy got all the attention!

Catching Up . . .
..............................
Here is a picture of my Mom's house -- from Friday I think. The painted the outside and are almost done with the porch!! I haven't been inside again since last month, but apparently they have already installed the cabinets and painted. So it should be completed really soon now. My parents will be here on Friday for a week and I am sure we'll walk over to check it out. . . maybe this will be the last time they are here as guests??........................
And a picture of Lily from this morning. We had been playing in the playroom for awhile before we noticed that we were not alone. Can you see Calli in the picture? Silly cat was camouflaged with all the stuffed animals! Calli seems to be feeling better -- hopefully it her "sickness" only occurs once ever few months, I can handle that.

Glad you are better! And that Ike didn't get you too wet! I was watching the weather! I told Joe to check on you guys, but he was alone with the kids over the weekend when I went to Pismo, so I don't think he had time! Ha!
Glad the bridal expo went well, too! I am anxious to come out and see you guys soon! :-)
The bridal expo display looks great! Glad it was a success. Can't believe how fast your parent's house is getting finished - it will be much easier for you once they are living close by. Nice that Chip can be flexible about his work and spend quality time with Lily. So glad that you are much better and back to blogging!
