We had a nice quite New Year's Eve, as usual. Lily and I watched "Happy New Year Charlie Brown" and part of "Rudolph's Shiny New Year." She has really enjoyed all the Charlie Brown cartoons from Halloween thru New Years. I was kinda surprised since they lack the color and visual stimulation of today's cartoons. But she likes to "watch Snoopy." Chip got home around 8:45. They were having a big party at the golf course -- my parents went, but we didn't have anyone to watch Lily (at least that was the good excuse we were using) :) Chip had already been there since 7:30 am and had to be back this morning to open so he didn't really want to stay and hang out with people he spends the whole day with already. Can't say I blame him. We put Lily to bed at her normal time. There was no reason to keep her up this year, especially since she was so tired already from her big day out. Then we watched the ball drop in NY at 11:00 pm. Since we are on central time they didn't bother to delay the broadcast, so we watched it live! But they were having a huge celebration, like in Times Square, but on a smaller scale in Downtown Dallas so we watched that, said Happy New Year and went to sleep. Exciting, huh? :)
This morning I watched the Rose Parade as I do every single New Year's Day! It was nice not to have to worry about getting up to early to watch since it started at 10 here! :) To my surprise Lily enjoyed watching it with me. All the floats were pretty Lily friendly, either with animals or cartoony looking people, so she liked that. And she liked the horses (there are so many horses!) and bands! It was fun! Obviously the best float was the Sesame Street one! We watched that go by a few times! Now Lily is napping and I am going to get some cleaning done and take down the Christmas tree. :(
Here are some pictures from last year :) that I hadn't posted yet: Lily playing in her kitchen, which is still a huge hit!

Happy 2009!
From last night:
.....................
A picture from 2009!
(and no, Lily never wants to wear pants! I know you've been wondering about that -- if I put them on and we are at home, she just takes them off.)
