Lily's Birthday

Lily's birthday started EARLY! The last few mornings (today included) she has woken up at 7am (compared to her normal 9 o'clock ish time)! So of course she was fussy and tired. We cleaned up some and went to the super market before she went down for a nap at noon. Normally she naps around 2pm, but she was just so tired and I was hoping it would be a longer nap. . . of course she woke up a little after 2 and was in not much of a better mood. So I called Chip and my Mom and told them all to come over soon and help entertain Lily!

Lily's presents -- just the ones from Mommy & Daddy! :)

Since we are having a party here on Tuesday morning with the neighborhood kids, I started decorating early. The theme this year is Mickey/Elmo. We couldn't pick one, so we went with both!

Since we were still being fussy and it was her birthday and since she ate green beans (?) for breakfast, I let her have crackers for lunch. I didn't feel like fighting with her.

She had so many presents, so we started opening them right away! I was a little disappointed since she was nowhere near as animated or excited to open her presents as she was at Christmas. I'm not sure if having so many presents so close together made them less exciting, or if she was just still tired! I mean, she was still cute and having fun, but she didn't exclaim "how cute!!" "Oh my!" after each one! Here she is opening another fun toy for the refrigerator.

She got a talking Minnie Mouse

My parents got her a shopping cart. Here I am assembling it!

Opening her Animal Hospital toy

For dinner we had pasta since it is one of Lily's favorite meals. Of course she didn't eat any of it.

We had taken off her pretty party dress to eat pasta and then she refused to put it back on. But I guess it is okay since it totally represents Lily! :) My Aunt Pam got her a couple of outfits and this awesome basketball hoop!!

Helping Grandpa put the hoop together

She didn't want to open this present -- she just wanted to wear the bag as a purse!

Nice shot!

Flash Cards! We got her 4 sets of flash cards. Come to think of it, maybe she didn't get super excited about her gifts since they weren't really super exciting! :)

Carmelita, the Cabbage Patch Kid!! She looks just like one I had!

Opening the clothes Aunt Pam gave her.

Opening her Little People Learn About Town play set

My parents also got her a new house. The dream house I bought during the summer had collapsed and would no longer stand up on it's own anymore -- so we upgraded!! This one has a little refrigerator inside and a front porch!

I rolled to the side to get out of the picture -- apparently I did not roll far enough

Playing with Pa and the Little People set

I got a Mickey and Elmo candle -- 2 candles for a 2 year old!

Happy Birthday to Lily

She made like she was going to try to blow out the candles, but then she asked me to help

Yummy cake! Grandma made it

Of course, Lily ate none of it -- she just smeared it around her tray!

Thanks for all the pictures! I feel like I was there. I love all her toys... how fun. It is also funny seeing dad in long underwear. I am just not used to it, but It is cute.
