Let's Go To The Movies . . . .

This morning we went with Patti & Emily and Lori & Hannah to the theater to see "Charlotte's Web" (the Dakota Fanning/ Julia Roberts version). It was the girls very first movie in a theater!! We thought it would be a fun experiment to see how they would do at the movies. The theater down the street has kids movies for only $1 on some weekday mornings. So we figured for a buck we'd give it a try! At first I was worried that she wouldn't like it since it is not a cartoon, but she loved all the talking animals!

Emily & Lily outside the theater. Lily was not cooperating for a photo -- I think she was too excited to "go to the movies!"

I snuck in one photo during the previews.
I wish I could have taken more pictures during the show, but the theater was pretty crowded and I don't think anyone would have appreciated my flash going off! Lily did really well at first. Of course she had popcorn to keep her occupied and she was mesmerized by the "big TV." After about 30 minutes she started to get a little antsy and would get up and down off her seat (which she had to sit on the very end of since she was too light and it would eat her up when she sat back!). I got her to sit on my lap for awhile, but then she was off. Lily and I were on the end by the aisle, so she went to sit on the steps in the aisle for a bit. I let her do it, since she was sitting nicely and being quiet and was so not listening to my suggestions to sit nicely in her seat. After a bit, Emily came to sit with her and then the two of them started kicking their feet on the floor and going up and down the stairs. It was obvious that we lost them at that point, so we left. Lily was not happy to go, and screamed "I want to go to movies" really loud as I carried her out of the theater. Lori and Hannah left with us, even though Hannah sat nicely on her Mom's lap the whole time. We made it though most of the movie. I think we'll go again for another $1 movie, but we're not quite ready to pay $10 yet! :)
