Catching Up . . .

Sorry no posts the last couple days. We've been sick and busy, which is not the best combination!! Lily was running a very low grade fever on Friday night, but was okay Saturday; then had a slight runny nose on Sunday and a gnarly runny nose Monday. So she stayed home from school yesterday and has been showing signs of improvement. I've been finishing up the decorating, cleaning the house, trying to get errands ran and things accomplished, went to spin class on Monday night and to Heather's last night to watch "Twilight" again since we are all going to see "New Moon" on Sunday. Chip has had his nose in a book since he is in finals all week. In some ways it is good that Lily got her cold now and is getting over since we have 2 holiday parties on Friday and plans to go to a Santa's Village tomorrow night. So as long as I stay healthy we should be good to go (knock on wood).

The first few days of Lily's cold she was not sleeping well at all. I was SO desperate for her to get some sleep (and get me a break from a tired, sick, cranky toddler) that I offered her a pacifier to sleep with. It actually worked wonders, although I don't think she used it since her nose was all stuffed and I can't imagine that she could even breathe when she had it in her mouth. But whatever, it made her happy for a few days and I have already successfully gotten her away from it. Above is my sleepy sick baby with her pacifier, rabbit and a random pair of pajama pants. :)

This afternoon I got adventurous and decided to wrap some presents with Lily around -- usually I do this during nap time. But I had the gifts for her teachers, a few for my parents and her class gifts so I thought I could get them all done now and off my to-do list. Lily, just wanted to unroll all the paper and walk across it. Argh.

Here are her class presents. Lily's preschool is a private non-denominational school, so they don't celebrate or learn about any holidays in order to respect every one's beliefs. But this year they are having an "International Exchange Day" where you bring in a gift, cookie, card, etc . . . something from your culture's holiday traditions. I just bought Christmas coloring activity books from Oriental Trading Company for .50 cents each to give to the kids. I figured most people would bring cookies and stuff, and this is easy and fun!
