Busy Busy Busy!

We have been busy the last two days. Yesterday after school (which Lily brought M&M cookies to and celebrated her birthday with her class), we went by the golf course to raid the refrigerators and freezers for food for her birthday party this weekend. They get a lot of samples of food, so Dad said we could have whatever we wanted since it would probably go to waste anyway. It is going to be quite the feast -- chicken nuggets, pizza, french fries, onion rings, taquitos, mozzarella sticks, some mushroom appetizers, chips, lasagna and soup (for the parents) and maybe more that I am forgetting now! Plus the cake and fruit and veggie platters that I am bringing. While we were there, Lily wanted to take a ride outside, so my Dad took her and me around the course.

Visiting Daddy at work.
Stopping to look for giant acorns.

It was a whopping 35 degrees out.

Throwing acorns in the creek.

Driving back to the clubhouse.

After her nap, she had to dress up as Ariel.

Then we went to Sam's Club to order her Princess Cake and look for other supplies.

This morning Lily just wanted to play with her new Play Doh set.
The poor little thing has not even had time to open or play with most of her birthday toys since we've been so busy! So I let her play briefly before it was time to go out and run more errands. This morning we went to Hobby Lobby to get Velcro for one of the party games. The Outlets to look for a plain long sleeve white T shirt to iron on the jeweled "3" I ordered for her to wear to her party. I was SO excited when I actually found one at the first store we went too -- The Children's Place -- I'd been looking for awhile for a plain shirt and haven't had any luck! Then since we found her shirt so fast, I ran across the street to Macy's to get a much needed compact and ended up trying on clothes and finding new jeans and a blouse! Then we went to Toys R Us to make a return and finally to Target to buy an iron for the above mentioned iron-on (neither me nor my Mom own an iron -- what does that say about us??) and some other supplies. I am pooped. Thankfully all those stores are super close and within a mile of each other. We were only out for 2 and a half hours. Now all I have to do tomorrow is Party City and Staples! :)
When we were at Toys R Us, I let Lily pick out a new toy. I know it sounds CRAZY since she just got a zillion toys for her birthday and Christmas and has another party this weekend, but she got a $5 gift card from "Geoffrey" the Toys R Us giraffe for her birthday and I had a $5 gift card I earned with my rewards card over the holidays. They expire this month and I hated to see that $10 go to waste (we don't have any other birthdays coming up and I don't need anything else there), so I let her pick out a toy. She wanted a Princess toy, so we headed straight to that aisle and believe it or not, out of all the toys there, she only had one already. But she didn't see anything she wanted. We looked at the dolls and the food and I even tried to sell her on a learning toy, but she wasn't finding what she wanted. I was proud of her for not just grabbing the first thing she saw and for not wanting everything! Finally she spotted a pack-n-play for her baby dolls and got so excited. She got a high chair and stroller last Christmas and they have gotten so much use, but she didn't get any doll supplies this year. She was certain this is what she wanted, and even though it was a little more than $10 we got it since I knew she would use it. Plus she got birthday money from her Grandma Sheryl, so that easily covered it.

After I got it put together she put a baby in, got a book and pulled up a chair to start reading and rocking her baby to sleep! SO cute!
