Hawaii Day 3

Tuesday was a FULL, fun and exhausting day on Oahu!!

Aunt Linda and Dani enjoying the balcony and a pop tart in the morning -- which was our morning ritual.
Then we all got ready and headed to the character breakfast to see Mickey and Minnie!! (and eventually Goofy).  This was a highlight for Dani since she so LOVES Minnie and was very upset that we didn't get to see her at Disneyland.

Love,

I even got a selfie with Minnie!

LOVE those Disney buffet breakfasts,
The kids all joined in the parade around the restaurant.

One last group hug with Minnie.

Next we headed into Honolulu to hike up Diamond Head!! It is a .75 mile hike (one way) up to the crater's rim for a 560ft elevation gain!!  Mom stayed in the car, but the rest of us headed up the volcano!
This was the only free ride Dani got -- her and Lily hiked the whole thing.  They complained a little at the beginning, but stuck it out!  I was SO proud of them and you could tell they were pretty proud of themselves too and felt the sense of accomplishment at the end.

Here we go!

Getting closer,  thumbs up!

Almost there.

Stopping in an old WW2 bunker near the top.

We made it!!!

Inside the crater -- mom in is in a car down there!
Now it's time to head back down  . . . which was actually much easier.
Chip, Dani and Lily went off ahead.

We made it!  And got Hawaiian shaved ice as a reward!!

Then it was time to drive to the Dole Pineapple plantation for a quick visit.  Needless to say, we were slightly worn out from the hike.

Dole Whip in Hawaii is the best!

And we ended the day at the Polynesian Cultural Center for a dinner luau and show!
(I also couldn't resist buying the girls Hawaiian dresses while we were there).

But it was a good purchase -- look how cute they are!!!

I LOVE their facial expressions as they eat their luau dinner.

Hilarious.

We got there a little late, so Linda, Scott, Jeremy and Katie were at a nearby table -- Dani had fun peeking through the plant at Katie.

Then we went to the big nighttime show where we had front row seats!!

Such a fun-filled busy day!!!
