The big project for the 3rd grade students is "Recycle Day". All the kids bring in used toys, books, etc from home and essentially have a garage sale in the room which all the other grades and classes visit and shop. All the money is used to buy Christmas presents for local, less fortunate kids. It is such a great project. The kids learn to run their store, negotiate prices, etc and it is all for a good cause. Lily has loved shopping at the sale the last 3 years and was so excited it was finally her turn!! We brought in a good 5 big garbage bags full of stuff to sell and her class made over $600! I got to go help with the sale. It was so fun. So proud of them.
