TX Thunderstorm

We had our second thunderstorm since we've been here yesterday afternoon. I have to say, the weather forecasters here are pretty good. They had predicted the night before that the storm would be here around 4pm and sure enough, right at 4:00 it started pouring. The storms don't mess around here in TX. It started raining hard right away and continued for about an hour and then was over and moved on East. Personally, I love a good thunderstorm -- I think since they were such a novelty growing up in So Cal. I do get a little scared here when they start talking about severe thunderstorms because that means there is also a chance of tornadoes and that is so not cool. But after the meteorologist assure me that there were no chance of twisters with this storm (we are in an area that could get tornadoes, although everyone who lives here and says they have never seen one), I was able to relax and enjoy the rain. Lily and I sat by the windows and had a little picnic with goldfish crackers and watched the rain. She enjoys it like me and is not at all scared by the thunder.

It was kinda funny last night while Chip and I were watching the evening news, we noticed a major difference between here and LA. We had just had a pretty big storm front come through and the newscasters were reporting fires and burglaries -- where were the man on the street interviews in front of local Albertsons and Costcos asking people what they thought of the rain?? I mean if there is even a cloud in the sky in LA, every reporter has to get out there and locate the biggest idiot they can find to see how the rain effects their life. Nothing like that here. Who am I supposed to laugh at while watching the news??
