Puppet Show!

This morning Lily and I met our friends Ashley and her daughter Sawyer at the Dallas Galleria for a puppet/marionette show at Slappy's Playhouse! They live a few blocks from us and are in our neighborhood playgroup as well as Gymboree with us! We have a lot in common since Ashley grew up in Fresno and OC and just moved here from San Diego last summer. So it was fun spending the morning with them. The Dallas Galleria is a HUGE really really nice mall -- it is shocking that after nearly a year here we had not yet been there! It is only 20 minutes away, but we literally pass 4 other great malls on the way to this one, so we've never gone. That is one thing about Dallas -- you can never complain that there isn't enough shopping or restaurants!

Slappy's Playhouse is a cute little toy store in the mall with a marionette theater. This month the show was "Charlotte's Web" (I want to go back again next month for "The Wizard of Oz"). She was so excited to see the puppet show and it was cute how the girls would laugh and comment on the show. They especially loved it since there were a lot of animals!

Here they are all ready for the show to start. Ashley was so nice to buy Lily some popcorn too, so I surrendered to the peer pressure and let Lily eat popcorn! I always said she had to be older to eat popcorn, but she wanted it so bad and is a good chewer and eater, so I let her have it. She ate the entire box!! She loved it!

Sawyer (who is only a month younger than Lily) looks adorable in every picture I took, but I could not get Lily to look at the camera too!

The show!

After the show, we went over to the kids play area in the mall. In the past, Lily would never play and was always too intimated by the other kids -- but she ran off and played with everyone! I am so proud of how far she has come. I am really not that nervous about preschool anymore.
It was a fun play area, full of animals to climb on!

Lily on the snake.

She is not the best at physical stuff. On the other hand Sawyer is a little daredevil -- but Lily kept up and climbed all over everything!

Lily and her blue sucker -- I think her face is still blue.

The ice skating rink at the mall. The mall we normally go to also has an ice rink -- ice skating is kinda big here. I guess when it is 100 degrees in the summer, it is a nice past time! :)

Her first popcorn! Now she knows why Ari loves it so much =) There is a marionette theater in L.A. I've been meaning to take him to, also. It looks like Lily enjoyed it so I'll try to remember to go soon.
