Here ya go Mama

I haven't left the house since Thursday. This cold just will not let up. It really isn't even that bad of a cold, as far as symptoms go -- only a sore throat, extreme tiredness, weakness and now a nagging cough along with that overall "sick" feeling. I never even really got a runny nose. It is just that I am so tired and weak, I kept resting thinking it was going to get worse, but it never got too bad. So the last few days have consisted mostly of hanging out around the house with Lily, sleeping and reading (I am almost done with New Moon now!). Lily has been a fantastic little caregiver. Whenever I cough (which is often) she says, "Mama wawa" and goes to get me my water. It is pretty cute. She is also helpful in bring me blankets and Kleenex (although she calls them towels). I think I got the cold from her although you would never know it during the day -- she runs around like she is just fine. But she coughs most of the night. It seems like she coughs when I finally stop, so I never get any sleep because I stay awake listening to her! I do feel a lot better today, but I still get winded real easily. I can barely make it up and down the stairs with a handful of laundry -- I have to stop to catch my breath!

Having all this time to play at home the last few days I noticed how Lily's imagination as grown. We started playing this little 'game' the other day upstairs (she started it). I was laying on the ground relaxing while she played with her toys when she brought me an empty sippy cup and said "Here ya go Mama". And then she watched me; so I pretended to drink from it and said "yum yum, good water". Then she took it from me and went over to a toy and was pretending to fill the bottle -- just like I do with our bottles -- and brought it back to me and again said, "here ya go Mama." This time I knew what to do, so I pretended to drink it and then I said, "Thanks Lily can I have some more?" and she excitedly said "OK" and the whole process repeated itself . . . again and again. She wanted to play again today, and this time I got a few pictures before she asked me to put the camera "away."

Filling the cup with water from the giraffe's head!
Making sure the lid is on good and tight

"Here ya go Mama"
This is exactly what it looks like as I lay on the floor

Starting the whole process again.
It totally remind me of when I was little and I wanted to play restaurant all the time!! I can't wait till Christmas when she gets her little kitchen and can pretend cook for me!! Of course, she sees me fill water bottles a couple dozen times a day . . . . not sure she actually knows what cooking is!! :) She'll have to watch Grandma closely on Thanksgiving!
