Randomness

I voted this morning! I have not missed an opportunity to vote since I was of legal age and I was a little concerned that I would not be able to vote this year since we have not yet gotten our Texas drivers licenses! We tried -- we went to get it done the day we registered our cars and got our Texas plates, but we didn't have all the necessary paperwork so we left and never went back. We'll get them someday. I barely registered in time -- I filled out the form on the deadline day and apparently when I filled out Chip's form I got his Social Security number wrong, so he wasn't able to vote this year. Oops, sorry Chip! I was a little worried the polling place would be super crowded since the news had been saying they would be, due to this "historic election". Most everyone I know went last week for early voting and had to wait for 15-30 minutes. Suckers! I went right in and didn't even have to wait a second. We were in and out in less that five minutes! It was awesome! Plus our polling place was at Lily's future elementary school, so it was kinda cool to check that out!

After we voted we headed over to our new friend Emily's second birthday party! It was Abby Cadaby themed, so Lily was loving that! It was fun -- pizza, cake and toys, how can you go wrong? Lily actually wore a party hat for awhile, it was so cute! Of course my camera was in my bag and I never got a picture. I still don't trust my camera. I ordered a new photo card from amazon.com and I should get it tomorrow. I love amazon since you can usually get things much cheaper there and I signed up for the free 2-day shipping -- which costs a fee, but if you order enough from there, as I do, it is so worth it!

After I finish this post I have to wash the sheets on my parents bed since they are due in town later this evening . . . only this time they are driving and bringing their cats and belongings since they are moving into their house on Thursday (I think)! Lily will be so excited to see Ga and Pa and Maggie and Tony!! I am excited too -- I can't wait to go shopping with Mom and buy stuff for the new house!! :) Since I am done (for now) with my house I can vicariously shop with her!

Not much else going on here . . . we relaxed all weekend since I thought I was getting sick; then I thought I was better so we went to playgroup yesterday and the party today. But now I feel terrible again and wonder if maybe I am sick? I am just super tired and feel kinda funky. I hope it passes soon! Anyway, I am rambling. . . here are some pictures I got this afternoon of Lily wearing Chip's old hat. She has been wearing it a lot lately and it is so adorable. Somewhere there is a photo of me at about Lily's age wearing my dad's old dirty hat. I'll have to have my mom dig it out once she gets moved in and organized -- she looks so much like me in that picture!

Of course she has her Dolly -- we don't go anywhere anymore without that Dolly! And I don't know if you can tell, but Dolly is wearing a old onesie that was Lily's! It fit perfectly!! It is crazy to think that Lily ever fit into anything that small!
(all the toys are up on the table since I vacuumed yesterday and didn't put them back)

Here are the 2 pictures I was able to recover from Halloween:

Pumpkins on our doorstop -- the jack-o-lantern is lit and glowing, but you can't tell because the flash went off.

And one picture of Lily in her Minnie Mouse dress. Of course none of the cute shots came out -- just this one of her driving her car backwards and into a wall and looking all pissed off! :)
