So much for my day of laziness

I was so excited this morning to wake up and have nothing to do and nowhere to go. Don't get me wrong, it has been great being busy with fun outings and playgroups, etc. . . but I can't recall the last time that I actually got to have more than one cup of coffee before I had to get us both dressed and out of the house. My plan was to stay in my cozy pj's all day and play with Lily. It is still chilly outside, so it just sounded so nice to relax at home. Of course Lily had a different plan. She likes going bye bye and getting in the car, so after an hour home chillaxing with me she was bored. And I did have errands that needed to get accomplished, I was just hoping to put them off a day or so . . . I first tried to distract her by going into the office and checking my e-mails. She was having a lot of fun getting in and out of the big office chair, but would get really frustrated when the chair rolled across the wood floor and away from her. I could tell this had the potential to end badly and perhaps with some blood loss, so I pushed her and the chair in the living room hoping to entertain her in there. It totally worked for awhile! She had fun playing in the big chair and I got to watch Ugly Betty!! :)

After the novelty of the chair wore off, I was getting a little bored too so I surrendered my day of laziness and we got dressed. The first stop was the car wash. I went out to dinner with some gals from the MOMS Club last night and parked in the worst possible spot -- my entire car was totally covered in bird crap. It was unbelievable (I should have taken a picture). Chip even ran inside from the garage on his way out this morning to comment on the complete disaster on my car. As I mentioned before, we don't often get to the car wash, so it was a big treat for Lily to watch all the cars get their baths! All the trucks and SUV's were "dada's car."

After the car wash we headed over to the outlets to do a little shopping for Lily. So far I have only gotten her 2 long sleeve shirts for fall (one she is wearing above), a jacket and some sweatshirts from Old Navy which I need to exchange for a 3T!! The 2Ts fit just right and I am afraid they won't make it through the winter, plus I rather have a hooded sweatshirt be a little too big than too small. She has been wearing the same pair of jeans for the last 3 days (that were hand-me-downs from Alyson -- thanks again Shell!). So I wanted to find some tops, another pair of jeans and some slippers since her little feet have been so cold in the morning. She'll let me put socks on, but then takes them off 10 minutes later. We totally scored at the outlets! I had a coupon for Carters and found her jeans and some play clothes; at Tommy Hilfiger she got the cutest pair of jeans for $9; and we got some cute slippers at Baby Gap which I hope she wears!! I also wandered into the KB Toy outlet and found a birthday present for another party coming up in 2 weeks! We only had time to hit half the outlet stores since it was getting close to nap time. Next time we go back we have to concentrate on shoes!
So I guess it was a good thing we got out today after all . . .

You really are documenting the everyday things in this blog...I've never thought to take a photo at the car wash! Love all the bargains you are getting, too. It's always so much fun to get a great deal on things you need!
