My Birthday

Yesterday was my 33rd birthday. We didn't do anything too exciting this year since, of course, Chip had to work and Lily and Jeremy are getting a little less tolerant with all our busy activities. We are wearing the little kiddos out. Lily went to school in the morning, but before she left she made cards for her teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. I have been trying to get her to write her name for some time now, it is a pretty simple name to write. But she is so stubborn and fights me lately whenever I try to teach her something. So I was pleasantly shocked when she proudly showed me the card she made for Ms Andrea -- with her name written in the top right corner!!!!!! She also drew a picture of herself and her teacher, which honestly, looked a little better before she kept adding to it and embellishing on it. But it is still pretty great and I am so proud of her:

After school we went to my parent's house where Linda and Mom decorated with balloons and homemade signs. It was very sweet and cute:

Jeremy is the happiest little baby. Always smiling. But for some reason yesterday he found it hilarious whenever I said my name. I'd just say, "Aunt Vicki. Vicki, Vicki, Vicki" and he'd laugh and laugh. I was loving it! I tried with other rhyming words, like icky and sticky, but didn't get the same effect. I even tried other "v" words like, Vesuvius Volcano, but nothing. He just likes his silly Aunt Vicki Vicki Vicki.
..................
Since it was already 11am after Lily got home from school and I really wanted her to go down for nap at close to her normal time, we just went shopping and for lunch nearby. Jeremy and Lily got some new clothes from Grandma (on my birthday!?) and I ended up picking out a gorgeous and much needed purse that Linda and Mom bought me!!! We also got to stop at the Rocky Mountain Candy Co for an English Toffee Apple -- my FAVORITE! It was a good afternoon.
Lily and I at Uncle Julios for lunch.

....................................
After everyone napped and Chip got out of class, we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner.
The family, minus Scott who was taking the picture.

Then we went back to my parent's house for presents and cake!!!

Scott and Linda got into the celebration by wearing these masks that my Dad brought home after a (strange) wedding at the golf course.

Linda had added more decorations by the evening.

Of course, I had a helper to open my present.

My new purse!! Big enough to carry everything I need, and hopefully I can stop carrying that diaper bag around after 3+ years!!!! I tried a few weeks ago to go without the diaper bag and just carry a normal purse, and I was lost. There were SO many things we needed that I didn't have on hand. But this new beautiful bag should hold all our many necessities.

I also got some MUCH needed Tupperware. I have no Tupperware -- only those disposable glad-ware things, that are starting to lose shape and lose their lids. Chip had already gotten me my iphone and taken me to Bon Jovi last weekend, so I told him that he was off the hook for buying me anything else. And he actually listened to me this time!

My super yummy rainbow chip cake!!

Playing Hi Ho Cherry-O.
It was a good birthday!
