My Little Gymnast

Olympic fever is in the air here at our house. Lily was in full gymnastic mode this morning and did her first somersault!! It surprised both of us! She uttered a dumbfounded, "whoa" as she completed her tumble. I was a little worried about her neck but she seemed fine. Since yesterday we have been hanging out in the front room which is pretty much empty, except for the piano, coffee table and a few miscellaneous odds and ends. Her baby swing is also in there now since I had brought it downstairs last week for a friend to look at. She was thinking about borrowing it to see if her 3 month old liked it before buying one of her own. But it wouldn't fit in her car, so she never took it. But Lily has had fun putting Elmo in the swing, so I just let it stay downstairs for awhile. Anyway, Lily has been running and spinning in circles until she falls to the floor and then erupts in laughter. Sometimes she doesn't need to spin first, she just falls on the floor and thinks it is the funniest thing! She also started bending forward, like in a position to do a somersault, but usually falls to the side. Except for one time this morning she actually went forward! Here are some pictures from this morning:

We lost our pants after a quick diaper change!
This is her somersault. My camera wasn't fast enough to catch her mid-tumble. But this is right as she landed. Unfortunately, I was taking the picture with the swing in between us.
